I respect the message and the community that this book try to put on front, but it wasn’t enough to make it a good book. I find the message, the opinion, to be too evident, too easy to see behind the story, we don’t even see the story, we just see the opinion of the author, almost like an essay badly camouflage through a story. The writing isn’t that good either and unfortunately I didn’t like reading it. Too bad!
This book wasn’t for me but it was present to me has a suspense romance... and... not so much. I would classify it has romance with a slight little twist in it. If you’re a fan of thriller I don’t think that this is the right book, but if you like romance, and want something a bit different, with a little thrill to it, then this might be worth looking at. I don’t read romance, don’t like it and don’t enjoy reading those, so all the romance was unpleasing to me. For me this book is a 2/5, for the writing which is a good average writing style for this kind of book. But I really think that for romance reader this could achieve a 3,5/5. So i will rate it a fair 3/5, knowing that the romance part wasn’t for me without being badly done!
Poor execution... and cover! I was surprise to see that this was written by and older adult, i was sure it was written by a young twenty something author. Why? Because it poorly written, not completely bad, but it look like you read a transcript from a TV show, everything sound like it's describing something happening on a screen, by the way people act, say stuff and the setting. Maybe it's was just a weird impression in my head but that's the way it felt to me. Last thing, everything, story, character, setting, plot is very casual and generic. A book that exist just to exist, it didn't bring anything to the table.
3,5/5. An easy to read informative book, for teenage readers, about trees and the importance they have on our ecosystem. Good enough for this public, my only problem was the extremely poor quality of the illustrations, maybe that was my epub format, maybe on paper it will look better, but the picture look stretch like they take a tiny pictures and enlarge it without proper software or tools, or just over zoom in.
Cute book, well illustrated and easy to follow/understand for young reader. The subject is interesting in itself, women who invented important things. I had to admit, I was impress by the book and by the creativity of those women who invented thing that today seem just ordinary and casual commodity but at the time, thinking about it and creating it, was just amazingly brilliant!
Good, funny, well illustrated, a bit long for the targeted reader, and with a strong, positive and great morale about letting go and accepting others and the world as it is for your own good! Well done!
Trying to hard to get original and funny. Just a lot of nonsense and absurd stuff. Not good!
3,5/5. I love what this book is trying to do, which is, creating a fun story and helping children build/increase their vocabulary. And it achieve it quite well, except that it push a bit to hard on the vocabulary part, it is too much and everywhere and it take over the story. I think that a bit less intensity on the vocabulary part and this could be a very good series!
I like this one a lot! This kind of biographical, homage to her father and simple but smart wisdom was great. The author present some notes that her father wrote to her and her brother during their childhood and between those she write about her childhood, her life and of course, her father. It really bring the love that this family has and the importance of family values and what a father, or a mother, can do (positive or negative) doing is role as a model and an inspiration. Knowing at my age and where I’m now in my life that I’ll never have children, this book made me really emotional, showing me what I’ll never have. This short moments that made your life worth it and those good memories to pass on, that’s what I thing is what I will miss the most for my entire life. It also made me think about the good and the bad from my own father. All that for saying that it’s a simple, but very well done book on father/daughter (or son) relationship that achieve its purpose. Good job!
I think that Harry Potter don't need an introduction anymore so I will be brief. It is a good book, the first of the series, so their is a lot of introduction about the characters, the places and the world of the wizard in general. Still a lot of adventures for Harry and his friends. A good start for the serie, that give you the will to read the second.
I just love this reread of Harry Potter on audio. Lot of fun and the audio is well done so I will continue my rereading/listening all of them.
