A book that combine a thrilling story, there is definitely tension in this one, and historical persons and facts. I always find it interesting to get the chance to know ordinary people who «change» or at least let their mark on history by their action. Maybe a bit long for the targeted readers, but a good book about and important period in the US history!

Ce livre, tout comme les deux autres, font un très bon travail pour résumé et bien présenté les films de la première trilogie de Star Wars. Une belle façon de découvir cet univers pour les jeunes lecteurs.

Beautiful artworks in this book, but the story... not really my style. Lot of imagination and familly love which is a good thing of course, but just seem like it was going nowhere. Love the art but not the story... too bad!

2,5/5. Full of clichés and stereotypes. The characters have no contrast at all, they go from black to white in two seconds. The story, isn't even an intrigue, just a series of little action scene fit together with a tine string that hold it. I don't get the high review this book has(rated over 4 stars at the moment). This is like a low b-movie but in a book. Yes there is some part you say that was good, but most of the time I was asking myself why I was going through it... which isn't a good thing. In a world so full of book, so full of thriller/crime/cops novels, there are way better book and author then this one. There is just a lack of quality, character development, originality and plot. Every aspect are there but just not enough at a high quality.

And in an editorial level I'm one of those who question how Patterson get so many books out, and how his co-writing process really work, did he even write that book or does he has become some sort of edition trademark whee it just put his name on a book, get a cut and barely look at it, to make it sell more copies. There is just many questions to be ask and answer on that subject... Anyway... maybe write a bit less and get deeper and more original could help. The true example that number of sell and quality are not necessarily related!

Always hard to review a true story telling, even if it's a novel or a graphic novel, and I want to say that I don't review this tragedy or whatever happen to those people, I review the book in itself and only that.

That being said, this book was alright, not perfect, but good enough. First I like the drawing style. I also really like the ambiance that this book set. The characters, the city, everything felt so real and true and this always important and not always well done, and it's even more important when you're telling a true story of course. Where it loose some points is in the rhythm. Some part where good but some just felt a bit too long. The book could have loose a couple of page and it would still have been good, probably even better. I get that at the beginning the author put the emphasis on meeting every person so we get attach and all, but some interview or casual day live part where a bit too much for me. But that is my only minus element. A good book that deserve to be read.

Another editorial point. Keep in mind that this book present one even/tragedy on a very complex conflict, the Israeli-Palestinian one, so please don't get your knowledge on what happen there just based on this book. However which side you think is right, you have the right to your opinion, but get it and assume it from serious read or knowledge on the subject and not just on reading a graphic novel that take place there. This is a very very complex situation that can just be overlook in a book like that.

Maybe not as great as I expected, but still an interesting read. First, I found the plot to be a bit simple and not really original, there was also some part that could have been shorter even if it's already a short book. I also think that the writing was light but it can be explain by two things. Maybe something was lost in the translation, or maybe it was intentional because it's all written in a teacher speech, letters, personal diary, etc. so the minimalist writing may have been intentional to make it look real. The characters were alright but some of their decision/choice sometimes felt stretch by a long shot and just doesn't seem realistic, like you don't think someone would do that for that reason... That was my minus. Now for my plus. The teacher characters sure goes far to get what she wants and that's a hell of an evil master plan, seem a bit exaggerate in some aspect, but still good enough. I like the many voices story, and I think that too often we get a multi voice book where all the voice look/speak/think exactly the same. In this book, this aspect is perfectly done, all the voices are unique, different and really have their own mind. This multi voice also allow us to see the same event, from multi perspective (it can become a bit repetitive at the same time...) and it's where the book is at its best, present how the same action can be seen at the complete opposite by two characters. This book is really good at showing how our personality affect how we perceive the world and events and also how each person only know one aspect of another (a son know is mother has a mother, but there is a completely different aspect of this women, has a wife, that the kid don,t perceive, or just slightly, because she is not his wife but only his mom, and the same thing for the husband... don't know if I'm clear or just getting more foggy...). All that for saying that this book has a very strong psychological/philosophical element in the matter of personality and perception of the world we have and just how uncompleted it's. It has some flaws but definitely worth reading!

Very complete book in the way that it cover almost every aspect related to sleep, which is great, but the problem is that it never get really deep in any aspect, it always stay on the surface. If you just start to develop an interest in the subject I guess this could be a good introduction to it and then targeted a bit more where you want to go from there, but if you already read a lot about it, like I did, then you might think that this book just doesn’t bring nothing really new and the fact that it didn’t go deep enough anywhere probably will let you disappointed.

This book has amazing illustrations are in rich golden tons that make it look very good. Unfortunately, the story, even if I respect the message, is aboard in a very cheesy way and just a big lack of originality. I still gave it a good rating for the message and illustration... but the story could have been better and make it a perfect book!

Kind of like the books about nouns I review yesterday, but this time with maths. It has a little story about it and at the same time it explains the basis of maths. Interesting and if it can help kids learn and remember those concept... why not!
