Very simple, but well done for the youngs one. The pictures are good, the information are basic but interesting and all is well explain and adapted to the targeted public. Nothing extraordinary but good!

A darker adaptation of a classic. Nothing wrong about it, but nothing really special either. The twist at the end was well though, don't want to spoil anything, but let just say it bring kind of a crossover with another classic story. Worth reading, but won't go into history, but for and independent author, it's good enough!

This was so bad! First to author doesn't seem to know the difference between an introduction and an acknowledgement and the writing was terrible.. I don't like to say stuff like that, even less when it's a more independent writer, but... well, it wasn't good!

A very disturbing story for sure. I had very high expectation for this one, having hear a lot about it, and with all the bigs authors praising it. Anyway, it was definitely good, but not great. Let's start with the bad. The middle part was way too slow, and could have been edited a bit, because it really break the rhythm and kind of bring down your interest a bit. Another, and last, bad things, his that the horror, much gore part of it, seem a bit grotesque at some point, like the author was asking how far should a push it too shock people, and it wasn't always necessary. That being said, it's well written, even if a read the English translation, I don't read Deutsch, and contain a fews really strong sentences that I had to note in my quotes notebooks. The characters are good, I find myself really attach to the main family, the Grant, and caring about them, his, in my opinion, what makes everything that happen so horrible. The story was original and the ending just enough disturbing to be really good, and not grotesque, so well done for the ending. It's also deeper then just the witch story, there is a interesting reflexion about hate/violence in small town (could apply everywhere) and how that hate transform people, transform the perception on the world that surround them and how people need something to project their hate on, because they can't accept that it's inside of us all. That was what the book really is about, that is the real horror thing in it, and that was also why it's that good and special. Worth it!

3,5/5. Une belle écriture, quoi que je m'attenais à un peu plus considérant le fait que l'auteur est à l'académie française. Une histoire très lente, trop à mon goût, et en deux parties. La première de la chasse à l'homme prends trop de place, alors que la deuxième, celle de l'archipel et plus romantique, est trop courte, car je la trouvais de loin plus intéressante et plus touchante. Dans les deux cas, on demeure beaucoup dans le descriptif, le contemplatif et il manque un peu de psyshologie et de réflexion pour donner de la profondeur aux personnages. Un livre bien, que je ne recommanderais pas vraiment cependant et un auteur que je ne suis pas pressé de relire, bien que je le ferai sans doute un jour.

4,5/5. Mathieu Simard nous offre ici un roman définitivement plus mature, plus aboutie. On y retrouve bien sûr une touche d'humour, assez noire mais quand même, qui est parfaitement bien dosée et bien placée. Dans ce livre, on rencontre un couple, qui nous parait d'abord désabusé sans raison, mais qui dévoile au fil des pages, le drame de leurs vies qui les a rendu ainsi. C'est d'ailleurs le cas de la plupart des personnages qu'on rencontre dans le roman, tous ont une sorte drame caché derrière, c'est d'ailleurs aussi souvent le cas dans la vraie vie. Un roman profond sur les drames des gens normaux, sur la rupture intérieure d'un couple et sur la deuil. Un roman qui offre vraiment plusieurs niveaux de sens, plus riche qu'il n'y paraît au départ et qui se dévoile doucement pour terminer avec un grand coup de poing. À lire!

Deuxième lecture, toujours aussi touchant. Un excellent roman!

Finally a good comic this week!! This one was awesome! The different point of view with the different style of illustrations were really cool and the atmosphere they have put in this comic with the Hulk... a very special way of presenting this characters! Great!!
