Great homage to what look like a great man and while briefly represent a part of the black history in America. All in simplicity but still quite deep. Well done!
This is such a great book! I though it was a stand-alone, but reviewing it, I just saw that Goodreads mark it has Aaron Flak #1, so we probably will see more of this men. This is a good thing because he was a very interesting main character, deep, and avoiding marvelously all the clichés. The story will grip you to your chair, not that it's really fast paced, but there is always something new, something happening, no time-out in this one. I really loved those crime/thriller about little village where everyone has secrets, and some knows bit of some and... and Jane Harper masters that genre at a very high level for a first novel. There is also the drought and Australia, those two are mostly characters, there are so present and really bring something to the story. Sometimes an author place the story in a city, and it's okay because it have to be somewhere, but it could have been anywhere and it won't have change a thing, this is not the case here, the environment is very important and present in the story. Last point, I enjoy it when an author add random, but interesting facts, about a place, science, or anything, so you can learn stuff even if you read fiction, and in this book , I learn that Australia have a very big problems of rabbits populations, but a very big problems. Didn't know that. So I think you saw it coming a big big discovery here, a book I recommend without any doubt and an author I will follow closely!!
Really good comic/graphic novel who get you deep insane insanity. You're not sur what is real and what isn't. There are some clichés but still a very good and original story, with simple but great illustration. I really like the storyline of this one, who was fast pace but still intense and have a good evolution. Kind of a psychological thriller but in the graphic novel way!
2,5/5. I've been trying some mangas for a while and I think I should stop it. I'm definitely not a fan of it, exception made for Death Note. This one, even if it's wasn't for me, may please the mangas and karate fans. Nothing special here, but nothing that bad either.
2,5/5. Kind of an homage to the movie universe. A very classical illustrations style, not black and white but very fews colors, often mix one or two colors with black. Colors switch along the story, because this book is a sort of anthology of short story about movie, actor, etc. Hard to describe, certainly unique in it's own way, but unfortunately not that good.
Read it in English. A very original piece of art. The story is really weird but unique, as well as is the illustrations. Hard to said more about it, but a book that worth looking at!
Nothing happen in this book. The illustrations are good, but there is just no story. Lots of casual teenagers hanging around but not much to keep the reader in!
No really what I was expecting. I would have taken more maps and less writing. This is an interesting concept and the maps are beautiful. Just not necessarily the way I would have done it or wanted it. Good idea but the execution could have been better!
