I love Pullman’s ideas and his way of putting them forward.

Perhaps grinding achievements in Star Wars Battlefront 2 isn't the best circumstance to listen to this book during, but I definitely enjoyed it! I think my expectations were colored by people online saying that this is the entry where the series "gets good". I really liked the previous two entries and prefer Call for the Dead still.

Talon Karrde continues to be my favorite EU legends character.

This is a fine summation of the language portion of what I was taught in school as a marketing minor. It is full of anecdotes and stories that repeat the same points over and over again. While valid, that repetition does drain my interest in said stories. The other repeated theme of the books seems to be that people don't follow news as much as pop-culture, which is very saddening to the author. As he himself says, that's not exactly a surprise. Not sure why I should re-read this unsurprising anecdote a dozen times then.

Much better than the previous two books in the trilogy, I liked the inter-Empire politics best out of the storylines in this one. Not sure why each of these books has to have at least one POV character that is absolutely insufferable to listen to. Particularly painful in a highly produced audiobook series.

I enjoyed this story more than the first Marlowe book. Shame it was extra racist, but what can you do?

One of the hardest to read books I’ve ever read. The conclusion chapter at the very least should be taught widely. Snyder continues to be one of my favorite modern thinkers.

Not much experience reading plays, but nice to experience the classic version of this story. Another entry from the St John reading list is completed.
