Annoyed at the cliffhanger ending and kind of care enough to read the second book, but not enough to think about it for very long.
I don't even know how to rate this bc I was in a hot and cranky mood the whole time I was reading. It was fine. Second book in a row that I was liking just fine until a painfully obvious twist in the last quarter.

I was really enjoying this up until about 80%, and then wasn't really sure how much I liked it after all.
I showed my 13y/o a Discworld flowchart and told them to pick which book we'd start with for bedtime. This just BARELY edged out Monstrous Regiment, and they loved it. We'll take breaks in between so they don't get burnt out, but it's nice to know we have plenty of Discworld to fall back on.

I read this out loud to my 13y/o, and the concept was really fun. They liked it more than I did, which was unsurprising, but I still really enjoyed a few of the stories. Super diverse group of authors and characters, which we both loved. It did feel like the whole mystery was wrapped up rather quickly, and I figured out whodunnit p early on, but it was still engaging. Lots of new to us authors to check out more of, so overall it was a win.
I liked this more than I thought I would after I realized I'd DNFed one of the author's other books earlier this year. It was fairly predictable, and the stakes were never really clearly articulated, but overall I don't regret reading it.
This was probably my least favourite of the series. It felt like so much wheel-spinning, with not a whole lot happening or being resolved. Still love Rickey and G-Man, tho
I might come back to this at some point, but I couldn't get into it and it had to go back to the library.
I didn't hate the story, but it really read like an early and unpolished draft. A shame, because there was a lot of potential, but the story was let down by the writing.
