I want to know the Cathrine House's budget for wine. 

Overall, it is genuinely well written window into the lives of monks and their person fights against distraction. There's a familiar thread in this view, given the way the west has moralized attention and being distracted is seen as a moral flaw. However, what drew me back from rating this higher is that the book felt somewhat superficial. It didn't feel like it built to much, other than the idea of "we have always been constantly distracted, so let's look at a society we thought was focused." That being said, there's a major disclaimer here that I'm a relative newbie with reading these sorts of books.

As I find with books about time travel, it is both wildly compelling and frustratingly open-ended. 

I need to read this again. 

This book has left me with a LOT to process. 

There are very few times I've cried during a nonfiction book. This had me in tears, multiple times. 

Beautifully written, this book does not stray away from the despair of climate change, but it does offer a dose of hope. 

A little too much incest and rape for me to truly enjoy, but the drama is pretty unmatched. 

I would also have liked a little more info on the Night's Watch.

Overall, really enjoyed!! I feel like there could have been more description and fewer cutscenes, but I did love it regardless.
