Why does everything have to be compared to 50 shades?

I really enjoyed this one and for real, couldn't put it down. As usual, when I get into a great story, I want to read all the words as quickly as I can and that was definitely the case with this one.
At first the characters drove me nuts but it all came together. I will admit, their flaws are what really turned me off at first and then as the book progressed, that is what actually made me enjoy the story.
I won't give away anything of the story here but I am still very curious as to what happened that triggered the Return...nothing is given up to the reader regarding the back story and who knows if it ever will be. Also, I wanted to understand more about the Sisterhood as well as what the heck happened with Gabriela. I need to know what the secrets are.
I have read a few reviews stating that the next book isn't about Mary - I hope we still get some information on what happened between the end of book 1 and the beginning of book 2 but don't know if it will happen. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a good story, zombies and quite a bit of action.

4 stars.
I really wish I read/understood German and could just read the untranslated version of Emerald Green (the next book) but unfortunately, I can't. That is how much I want to know what happens with the rest of this series.
Sapphire Blue picks up where Ruby Red left off....Gwen is just getting into the whole time travel thing and because this is all new to her, she pretty much lets the Guardians dictate what she can and can't do. There were times that I just wanted her to push back at them and tell them if they weren't going to tell her what the heck was going on, she wasn't going to help them.
On top of the time travel stuff, Gwen is struggling with trying to figure out what Gideon is about. There are times when he is standoffish and others where he is kissing her....she is having a hard time figuring it out and she definitely has feelings for him - she just can't keep them all straight. I suppose at 16, that is to be expected but she does spend a fair amount of the book crying, worrying, wondering what Gideon is doing, does he even like her, etc.
I found Gideon a bit annoying at times. He was fairly condescending to Gwen at the beginning and it was odd the way he would be kissing Gwen then hanging out with Charlotte in what appeared to more than just friends. The end of the book explained it a bit more for me and I have to say, Gideon has quite an uphill battle ahead of him if he is going to come back in the next book.
The overall mystery of the count and whatever Lucy and Paul are up to are still at the heart of this series. I am very curious to find out what the letters say as well as how Gideon reacts to the news Paul has given him. Fall 2013 is currently feeling a long way off and I will be impatiently waiting to find out what happens next.

All the stars for Shades of Earth...I said it before and will say it again, it was a perfect end to this series.
Revis did a wonderful job of world building throughout the series and in this book expanded it even more. The story and characters kept me engaged and had me turning the pages to see what happens next. At about 60 pages left I pretty much told my family not to interrupt or talk to me because I had to finish this.
Centauri-Earth is introduced pretty quickly based on where the last book left off and it isn't anything like what the group from Godspeed was thinking it would be. There are quite a few dangers and none of them really know who to trust. The military group has been woken up and they don't understand how a kid is considered anyone's leader and although the group from Godspeed outnumbers the military group, they are very fearful of them - similar to their reaction to Amy when they first saw her aboard Godspeed. There are definitely tensions between the group from Earth and those that were born on Godspeed. There were times where Amy's dad actually came off as a bit racist in the story - referring to Elder's group as "them" and considering them different from his group.
There are a number of new characters introduced in this just due to where the story went but it wasn't done in a way that was confusing. Each character had a purpose.
Revis did a great job wrapping up this book - I was a bit worried near the end as I was invested in these characters. I am not going to include any spoilers here...I will only say that it was a perfect end in my opinion (anyone can disagree with me if they choose to) to the trilogy.
If you enjoy a bit of mystery, sci-fi, some romance, great characters and a good story you really should give this series a try. It puts a different and interesting spin on the dystopian/alien/ya genre and I may actually re-read this from the beginning in the near future just to read them all at one time.
