Loved this story...Knox creates the best characters and tells a great story. A better review to come but just go read this if/when you can.

5 stars. Is the next book out yet?? Seriously...

So thankfully my sister has the good luck necessary to win contests and as soon as she got this in the mail I was pestering her about when she thought she would be done. Thankfully she is a fast reader...

Breaking Point opens up with Chase and Ember back with the Resistance and I have to say, I was quickly caught back up in their story. For me Ember was a challenging character in book 1 and I worried about her even though she redeemed herself by the end of that book - mostly because of the way she came through for Chase. Although she annoyed me a bit at the beginning, she came into her own in this book. She pushed herself to get past the wrongs that were done to her and her mother and do what she believed she needed to do...no matter how dangerous (or at times not too smart).

Chase was perfect. I could feel his struggle with the contrast of who he wants to be and who he feels his is because of what the MM put him through. I won't ruin anything but you will definitely understand what I mean when you read the scene in Chicago. He definitely has a quiet strength about him and truly wants to do whatever is in his power to protect Ember.

I loved seeing the relationship between Chase and Ember evolve. I enjoyed them as characters separately but together they finally get to a place where it isn't just about what happened in the past but also what the future holds for them.

The secondary characters are great as well. Sean continues to be one of my favorites. Tucker...I have no words for him. I still don't know what his deal is and am really curious to see what book 3 brings for him.

So, if you can't tell...I really enjoyed this book. It has a lot of action, wonderful characters, and a romance that adds a layer to the rest of the story....see that, adds a layer and does not becomes the focal point. Book 3 can't come out soon enough in my opinion. Trust me when I say that if you have not started this series yet, you should get started...for real.

3.5 stars

I don't envy any author that has to wrap up a series and attempt to make every reader happy...it just isn't possible. With that said, Hand did a good job with the conclusion of the Unearthly series.

I honestly believe that my problem here is that there was just too much time between me reading book 2 and then jumping into book 3. Thankfully my sister just finished book 2 so I was able to ask her what happened at the end of that book without having to re-read anything.

I enjoyed the characters and seeing the relationship evolve for Christian and Clara. I will always be a Christian fan...don't get me wrong, Tucker was great but I have been rooting for Christian all along. I won't say anymore on the relationship front here as there are some definite twists and turns throughout the book that the reader should experience for themselves.

Now...I know a lot of people have been rating this fairly high. Based on the reviews I jumped right into this but overall I just liked it. If you enjoyed the first two books, you will for sure want to read this one and most likely won't be disappointed.

This book...when does book 3 come out? 5(gazillion) stars.

I don't really have the words for what this book did to me. I need Brodi Ashton to send me book 3 and I am more than willing to offer up my services as a pre-reader (as if she doesn't probably already have a million offers for this).

After reading the novella about Cole I was excited to get into Everbound. I won't lie, he has become one of my favorite characters through the series...I know that this won't be what some people are expecting but he really isn't just a bad guy....Throughout this book, he continues to push Nikki to see that he does love her.

We don't get a lot of (current) Jack in this one but we do get to see how the relationship evolved for Nikki and Jack. I loved how Ashton did the flashbacks and integrated them into the current story. We truly got to see the friends to more progression and I enjoyed it.

I really liked the world building done in this book of the Everneath and the way Ashton took the reader on the journey with the group.

Now...since I am not giving any spoilers away, I will say that there is a HUGE twist at the end of this book and I was shocked (SHOCKED) at how it wrapped up. I can't really say what it is as I don't want to take away from anyone's enjoyment of the story progression but once you read it, you will see what I mean and understand why I can't say anything. Just trust me when I say, get this book, sit down, and enjoy the story.

I really liked this prequel series and have read that this is the last book before the series jumps to Nightshade. I really would like and appreciate one more book...I felt this one ended so abruptly.

This book focuses on the aftermath of what happens after the group decides to leave the keep and Lady Eira. So much happens in this book and there is so much room for more. I loved seeing the relationship progress between Ember and Barrow. Honestly, Alistair is somewhat of a nutjob and his obsession with Ember was crazy. He actually moves from obsessing only about Ember to a "project" that will have a huge impact on the war between the Conatus guards and Lady Eira.

I won't go into everything that happens as a whole lot does truly go down. There is a lot of intrigue, magic, danger and some romantic tension.

I will definitely hop into the Nightshade series to read more but also hope that there is some back story included so that I can understand what happened between the wedding and Calla's world.

4.5 stars - I found myself enjoying the same things in this book that I did in Darling's other book - the characters and the dialogue.

This book had me from the very beginning. It starts with an email setting up some of the back story and only gets better. The dialogue and the characters are engaging and fun and the story itself is a fresh take on the Gods.

First let me say, I loved Sophie's voice and her friendships. There were so many lines I read that actually made me laugh out loud...no lie. The parts of the story where she was learning more about who she is and what she is capable of are great, but some of my favorites were actually when Sophie was just being herself and interacting with Hannah, Theo and Kai.

The story puts a spin on the story of Persephone and the Underworld. Now stay with me here - we find that Sophie is the part human incarnation of Persephone - a Greek Goddess. As Persephone, she was kidnapped and brought to the Underworld by Kai (under order of Hades)...who she happens to fall in love with. There is definitely a lot going on here but unfortunately for Persephone, someone tried to kill her and Prometheus (Theo) makes a decision that ultimately brings them all to this point 16 years later. For the last 16 years, Sophie had no idea of what is in her past. She just happens to cross paths with Kai and a kiss with him is what unlocks a piece of her memory.

I will in no way do the rest of this story justice so just believe me when I say you should go read this. I'm not usually one who highlights and grabs quotes/lines from books but I honestly did while reading this one as the tone of the story and the interactions between the characters were great.

If you can't already tell, I really enjoyed this book and truly look forward to the next installment. Based on the summary, it sounds like it will be another great ride.

I always find it tough to get back into a series when it has been a while since I finished the previous book. Add to that the fact that I tend to read quite a few other books over the course of the year and it never fails that I usually have to really think about what happened last.

We are taken back into the story of Schuyler and the group. The book switches point of views throughout the book. The crux of the story here is that Lucifer is attempting to take over the gates and he is using whatever he can to accomplish this. Jack and Mimi are tied to him and doing whatever Lucifer requests. At the same time, Bliss and Lawson are doing what they can to get back to Schuyler to help protect the gates. Schuyler is doing a little searching - she is digging into her family history and comes across some knowledge about her father.

A lot happens in this book and although at times I found the switching point of views annoying, it was great to see all the different perspectives come together at the end of the book. Overall this was a great wrap up to the series. I was happy with how it ended.

A solid book 2 for this series - 3.5 stars and I'm feeling generous so I am rounding up.

I enjoy this series. There are definitely some things that drive me crazy about these characters but overall it kept me turning the pages to see what happens next and in my opinion, that is a good sign.

We are back with Dawn shortly after book 1 wrapped up. Victor is now the overlord for the Valentines, Sin is nowhere to be found, and Dawn is facing the blow back from the failed teen blood initiative. On top of that, Tegan is healing from her run in with Sin, Michael is not happy about Dawn telling him about her feelings for Valentine, and Victor doesn't want Dawn as his delegate any longer. Trust me when I say, a lot is going on.

When Clive asks Dawn to travel to Los Angeles to dig into Sin's background and see if she can find out anything about the Thirst, she jumps at it.

I like the strength that Dawn has but at times the interactions she had with Victor felt a bit out of character. I do like these two together but wish it would have been more outside of the dreams.

The big reveal at the end of this book was not a surprise to me...it felt like that is where the story was going. I am curious to see how it impacts the relationships Dawn has with everyone and whether she decides to tell everyone.

Solid story and characters and I will continue with the next book when it comes out.
