I decided to check out the audio of Fortuna Sworn by K.J. Sutton because I loved the print book and since I wanted a re-read I thought this would be a great way to revisit the book. The story was great and the narrator was solid. It took me a bit to get into her voice but it did grow on me and I found myself just as invested in the story via audio as I was when I had read the print version.
If you're looking for a story that has fae, magic, secrets, and a great story definitely check this one out. I will be grabbing the audio of the other books that are out so I can continue with my re-reads!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I love all of Kerrigan Byrne's books. Crying Wolfe is the fifth book in the Goode Girls series and I loved it. From beginning to end, how the main characters met and built their relationship was great.
I thought both Rosaline and Elijah were interesting characters. Rosaline does her best to avoid society and has a love for the stars, which is what brings her into Elijah Wolfe's new home. Elijah recently purchased the home and when she decides to sneak in, Elijah has no idea who she is and follows her back to her room. Unfortunately for both, her reputation is ruined now and after finding out she is the sister in law to a friend (Carlton Morley) they find themselves being talked into a name only marriage to avoid any further scandal for the Goode family.
As I mentioned, I loved how their relationship developed. Eli grew up in Nevada and isn't your normal gentleman but he does his best to become one and Rosaline is the one to step up and push him to consider an actual relationship as she wants more than a marriage of convenience.
This was a great next book in the series and I look forward to whatever Byrne writes next. If you haven't picked up this book (or this series) yet, I definitely think you should.

This was the first book I've read by Tracy Sumner but it definitely won't be the last. Actually, once I finished this one, I went back and read the first two books of the series as I wanted to not only read them but also get a better picture of all of the characters. With that said, I think you could read this as a standalone but I recommend you actually read the first two books as you'll have a better idea of who some of the secondary characters are as well as some of the backstory for our main characters in this book.
Phillipa (Pippa) Darlington and Xander Macauley are the main characters and I really enjoyed their story. This is a class difference trope so you have two characters who are drawn to each other - Pippa is a lady and Xander is common born but connected to the Ton via his friendship with Pippa's brother and Tobias Streeter.
As Pippa and Xander spend more time together, they learn more about each other and find themselves drawn to each other more and more, despite Xander doing his best to keep her out of his world. I loved how their relationship evolved. There's banter and the build of the inevitable romance and I loved every bit of it.
If you haven't picked up this series yet, definitely do - I love how Sumner has developed all of the characters so far and look forward to what comes next with this group!

This is the second book in The Widow Rules series and I enjoyed it just as much as the first book.
This book focuses on Constance Lysander, the official widow of a man who left her (and two other women) wondering what to do as she is also expecting a child. While she has her aunt and has become close friends with the other two women, society believes she also needs a husband. Enter Jonathan, Earl of Sykeston.
Jonathan and Constance were close before he went off to war but Jonathan is now injured and he doesn't feel like he is good enough for her but when she proposes they marry, he agrees. On top of the injury, he is also fighting a battle that impacts his honor and could have some repercussions for Constance if things go badly so he decides to escape to his estate to create some separation however, Constance wasn't having it.
As Constance pushes Jonathan to spend time with her, the begin to learn more about each other and how to live not only within a new marriage but also with a brand new baby. I loved seeing the relationship build and develop into something more than a childhood romance.
If you're looking for a new historical romance to read, definitely check this (and the series) out as they are not only engaging stories, but they are well written and have interesting characters.
