In this issue, Deadpool appears at the door of Ilaney Brukner (who has seemingly had a very rough life, which is why she is a hermit now) with Doctor Killebrew over his shoulder. Ilaney brings out a shotgun and tells Deadpool to leave. Unfortunately, the shot gun blasts have lead Ajax right to them. Deadpool comes up with a scheme that results in Ilaney's home being wrecked by an avalanche... The three (Deadpool, Ilaney, and Killebrew) take off on a snowmobile, but their combined weight is too much and it breaks down. They find a place to build a fire and Ilaney starts asking Deadpool questions. We find out why Ajax is trying to kill Deadpool- because Deadpool shot him point blank with automatic assault rifles and blew away his torso. Instead of dying, Doctor Killebrew worked on him and now he is the only one that knows how to kill him. Except that's not true...Killebrew lied. He has no idea how to kill Ajax. Three spirits appear and tell Deadpool that he needs to kill Ajax so they will finally be free. Later on, Killebrew tells Deadpool that he doesn't know how to kill Ajax after all, and it doesn't go well. Then Ajax shows up...

In this issue, we pick up right where we left of- Deadpool and Ajax are about to fight and the ghosts are excited. They need Deadpool to kill Ajax so they can be free. They also state that Deadpool owes them, because after all, Ajax killed all of them to get to Deadpool. The fight isn't going well...Killebrew steps in and Ajax kills him. Because Killebrew gave them a diversion, Deadpool and Ilaney run away, which doesn't make the ghosts too happy. The end up diving off a cliff into water. Ilaney drowns and deadpan gives her CPR to bring her back. The ghosts tell him to leave her, but he refuses because she still needs his help. Ilaney is clearly out of it, and she mentions that she wants to fly again, even after the accident, which sounds like a crash. Then, she dies. Deadpool and Ajax fight again, and using all of what Deadpool knows about Ajax, he finally figures out a way to kill him- to slow him down enough to pull a few cables loose and then submerge him in water so he shorts out. Deadpool holds up his end of the deal with the ghosts, but the ghosts are still there. They realize that Killebrew isn't stuck like they are because he made peace with everything before he died. Then Killebrews ghost reaches out and touches Ilaney's head and she opens her eyes. The issue ends with Deadpool carrying Ilaney away and the ghosts realizing that they also need to come to peace with themselves in order to move on.
Meanwhile, Al is thrilled that she is free, but she hasn't left because she is worried about who will take care of Deadpool. And at LL & L, Monty is teasing Culloden, suggesting that he may or may not have seen her death as a result of her watching over Deadpool.

In this issue, we begin with Culloden talking to Sarah, who is panicking because Deadpool took off in a very powerful suit during their field test. This suit is something that LL&L created to help him in his quest. However, Deadpool proves to them that he doesn't need the suit when he turns off the safety measures and goes into the field with a gun and no suit... Of course he talks himself up as he makes it through the course. Afterwards, Culloden tells Deadpool that he has to kill a thing called Tiamat, who was named for the Babylonian chaos dragon who is dedicated to the destruction of order. Deadpool teleports to where he left Al in the park and tells her that he can't believe the thing he is destined to be is a murderer.
Culloden fights her way to see Monty and discovers that Dixon has mind wiped him. She teleports to Deadpool's house, where Deadpool was just drunkenly talking to the Teletubbies on his TV.
Meanwhile, at LL&L, Dixon admits that his plan is only based on the old prediction from Monty and that they can't get a more recent update because Monty isn't recovering as well as he had hoped when they did a level eight mind wipe. Noah can't believe that Dixon ordered the wipe on Monty, but Dixon says the carry out of the Mithras Directive would be worth it. Later, we see Noah thinking about how he will stand up to Dixon. We also find out that Dixon is planning to make the messiah landing invisible to anyone who may want to stop it. Right at the end of the issue, Dixon orders Noah to go fix an issue in Puerto Rico. When Noah leaves, Dixon asks God for forgiveness for sending Noah on that mission.

In this issue, we pick up with Noah traveling to shut down a dish so the Messiah can land without detection, and Cullodean and Monty just teleporting into Deadpool's house. Of course, Culloden just dropping in suddenly doesn't go over very well. Deadpan teleports out leaving Culloden angry. She's about to wipe Al's memory when Monty reminds Culloden that Al is blind and that the wipe is unnecessary. As Culloden and Monty begin to argue, Al interrupts and tells Culloden off for treating Deadpool how she has for the past few months. She calls her out for both sending him mixed messages as well as being a hypocrite.
Next, Deadpool has dropped in on the X-Force while they are all asleep. Deadpool approaches Theresa and thinks about how he needs to figure a way out of the tough spot he's in- being a killer for his mission. Then someone demands that he go outside. We see that it's Nate Grey, and he tells Deadpool not to go near them again. Of course they begin to fight. Deadpool, who has been wearing a cardboard box on his head this entire issue because he couldn't find his mask, has the box knocked off. Because his face is in the open he tries to call a time out. The fight fizzles out and the two men have a bit of a heart to heart.
Meanwhile, back to Noah's storyline- Noah tells Dixon not to go down where he is because the beast from space is already there and things are not looking good. Dixon turns his back on Noah and looks ashamed. At the very end of the issue, Dixon tells Monty, Culloden, and Deadpool that Noah is dead.

In this issue, we begin with Monty reminiscing over the past. He goes over his readings- 1) an alien life form will come to earth in the late 20th century and bring peace and prosperity, 2)a malevolent being will kill the alien messiah and destroy the peace unless the messiah is protected by the Mithras, 3) that the four of them (Culloden, Noah, Monty and Dixon) would witness the destruction of the tiamat, 4) that Deadpool is the Mithras, and 5) that the Tiamat is too strong and the Mithras will die.
Meanwhile, Deadpool is getting read for the fight. Culloden is there, but only in holographic form. They discuss Noahs death and ensure that there's nothing between them that will come up and distract them during the fight. And then it begins. They go to where Noah and the other three were killed. At this time, on another planet called Dr'azim, the people are very excited for the arrival of the messiah.
And in San Francisco, Al is making Deadpool a welcome home cake for when/if he returns. Gerry drops in and takes a swipe of it (running it) and says its too bad that Wade will miss the cake. Later, a troop of three come in to Deapools house for Al. Gerry says something that tells us that he was the one that trained Dixon.
Deadpool and Culloden walk into a room and discover that the thing the Tiamat was in has been there the whole time, buried under the floor of the building. They go into the ship which is covered in hieroglyphics, which tells them that the Tiamat must have some precognitive power like Monty. Then they get attacked by large alien bee-like creatures. As usual Deapool style, he rambles off a narration while he goes to town taking out all of the creatures. Afterwards, Culloden warns him not to get too cocky because they weren't the creature they were there for.
Back in the War Room at LL&L, Dixon is ordering a new employee around and Monty is panicking because he realized that he predicted something new about this day, but that Dixon had wiped his mind before he told anyone else. Dixon attacks Monty and then shuts down teleportation units.
Back in the alien ship, the Tiamat appears. While Deapool and the Tiamat are fighting, Culloden is reading the hieroglyphics on the walls which shows the fight step by step. Just as she's about to warn Deadpool that the Tiamat knows how this will end, and therefore knows what to do to win, Dixon pulls her out of the holographic machine so she can't warn him. Back at LL&L Dixon confesses that he's been using Deadpool and that he knows Deadpool will die and a "second string" will go in and finish the Tiamat off. When Zoe starts to fight back, Dixon hits her which is the last straw for Monty. Monty attacks Dixon and tells Zoe to go, to teleport to Deadpool. Meanwhile, Deapool has crawled back to Noah and taken his teleportation belt and teleported back to his home. When Culloden gets there, Deadpool is being comforted by Al and there is a bomb on the wall, and it explodes.
Back at LL&L, Dixon's "second string" has appeared (Captain America) and it's clear that Dixon has told him that he is the Mithras that will save the world.

In this issue, we pick up with Dixon showing Captain America a recording of how the Tiamat taking out a whole group of men in under a minute. While Dixon is "filling" Captain America in, Captain keeps repeating "Monster." But he isn't talking about the Tiamat, he's talking about Dixon because he can see right through him. Captain calls him out for having technology that is able to see the future and still sending a hundred men to their deaths. Captain America asks to see the proof of the Messiah before he goes off to fight for Dixon and he's having a hard time buying what Dixon is telling him. When Dixon shows him Monty, Captain is very angry that it 1) looks like Monty is in severe pain, and 2) that Dixon keeps calling Monty an "it." Monty reaches out and called Captain by his real name, Steve, and tells him that Nightmare wasn't his fault and that he must stop the Tiamat "in the sand." Soon, Captain is teleported to Egypt.
When Captain decides that he will fight, he and Dixon leave Monty. This is when Gerry the Bum shows himself to Monty and tells him that Zoe is alive. Later, we see Culloden and Al sitting on a bench in San Francisco Golden Gate Park. They areguing about whether or not Deadpool is still alive when Gerry Lequarre (Gerry the bum, the fourth L of LL&L) appears. He tells Culloden that while she thought he was dead, he was really in hiding, getting Deadpool and the second stringer (Captain America) ready for this fight. One problem though, he's lost Deadpool...

In this issue, we pick up with Captain America preparing to battle. Meanwhile, under a park bench, in Gerry's little home, Al and Culloden are asking him what, exactly, is going on. Gerry tells them that he was the one that swooped in and saved them from the explosion at Deadpools house. However, when Deadpool came to, he realized what had been going on, freaked out, and teleported away. Then, Gerry uses his magic to send Culloden to save Monty before it's too late.
Then Gerry and Al time hop to a battle between Deadpool and Sasquatch (which happened back in issue #1). Gerry tells Al that they can only see these events, they can't interact with them, but that their mission is to find present Deadpool, who had also time hopped back there. In the past, the three witness past Culloden and Noah calling him a hero. Back in the present, Gerry is having trouble convincing Deadpool to join the battle so Al has a go trying to give him a pep talk.
Meanwhile, the Tiamat is approaching Egypt getting ready to battle who he and his people call the Destroyer, but Dixon has been calling the Messiah. Once the Tiamat reaches Egypt, Captain America is there to start the fight. Captain notices that the Tiamat seems to be holding himself in a way that proves to Captain that the Tiamat truly believes he is fighting on the right side of things. Things are not going very well for Captain America, and luckily Deapool jumps in. However, the Messiah/Destroyer has landed and has put many people all across the world in a trance, called the "bliss effect." They are all happy, but they no longer have free will. Deadpool attacks the Messiah and for a short time their souls merge. Deadpool shows the Messiah that he truly believes he is doing the right thing, and Deadpool wins the battle. The bliss effect is dropped.
In the aftermath, there is still some confusion. No one knows what happened to the Tiamat. No one (except for Deadpool) knows why he suddenly turned on the Messiah. The government is confused by the entire situation and dismisses it as a incident of space weapon research. Monty is released from his job, and Dixon loses his mind and gets locked up.

In this issue, Deadpool is in Al-Muzahmiya where he has encountered a few henchmen that attacked him, put him in a bag, and brought him to their leader. They think Deadpool is dead, but when they open the bag to show their leader, he attacks.
Meanwhile, princess Ophelia is upstairs crying because it is her wedding day and she is being forced to marry the leader. She isn't upset for too long though, because Deadpool busts in and says he will save her. As he is trying to get her out, they are attacked by more henchmen so they end up diving out of a window where Ilaney Brukner (the ex german army pilot we met before when Deadpool caused an avalanche to bury her house) catches them on her plane. Ophelia thinks Deadpool is taking her to her love, Jasper. However, he ends up handing her over to another.
Later, in Bolivia, Deadpool is working on his new "Deadhut" while Monty hangs out on the porch.
Next, we meet Alestaire Finchley, who is described as a broker of illegal activities. Three men approach him ready to fight and he says that he just needs his bag. Deadpool's narration warns the reader to never ever give him the bag. So of course Deadpool jumps in and kills the three men and then Alestaire Finchley give him a job. While they are talking, Deadpool senses that he is being watched again, and we see the silhouette of someone with long hair in the distance.
Later on, Ilaney is flying Deadpool somewhere when Deadpool hallucinates a lady riding a giant saber toothed rabbit flying in to attack them. Ilaney tells him to snap out of it. When he does, Deadpool is in a room talking with Doctor Bong, who tells Deadpool that he has gone insane...

In this issue, we begin with Deadpool taking to Doctor Bong, who tells Deadpool that he is suffering from spontaneous hallucinatory episodes resulting from the severe mental trauma (Deadpool's last battle). So Deadpool is now seeing bunnies and a woman pouring booze into a gallon of milk in times of stress... Doctor Bong tells him to fix his brain, than he needs to fight a super hero (later, Deadpool chooses to fight Wolverine because of his great healing powers). When Deadpool goes back to discuss this with Monty, Monty says its a bunch of crap. Monty sbelieves that Deadpool is having hallucinations because he fought the Messiah and now feels guilty that the world is still able to suffer. Deadpool just isn't sure. However, he thinks that the woman that keeps appearing to him is familiar.
Later, we see Logan (Wolverine) and Kitty Pryde in Chinatown where they run into Deadpool. In usual Deadpool fashion, a fight begins. In the scuffle, Black Crane gets shot and Logan is angry because he had been there to settle a blood debt with him and Deadpool has ruined it. As they are fighting, Deadpool and Doctor Bong try to work out Deadpools hallucinations. They think he is having such a hard time because he related to the people of Earth during the last battle and now his brain began to reflect on pain for the first time in years. As they battle, Deadpool is beginning to process all of the pain. Then, he realizes that he knows the woman in his hallucinations- it's a woman that stole his heart a long time ago.
Meanwhile, Aestaire Grunch receives a letter from Doctor Bong and he's not thrilled.

In this issue, we begin with Deadpool and Monty talking. Deadpool is ensuring monty that he is sane again, but because Deadpool has created a giant statue of the woman that was haunting his hallucinations out of doll heads and chewed chicklet gum, Monty begs to differ. Then Deadpool receives a phone call about a job and heads out with Ilaney. On site, Deadpool sees the woman from his hallucinations, Mercedes (his wife, who he thought was dead). He thinks he is hallucinating again but when she runs smack into him, he is ever more confused. He even has a flashback about her asking for his help in a similar way that she is now- Mercedes was running because Bullseye was chasing her, saying that he is going to kill her. Deadpool and Bullseye have a little heart to heart and Deadpool asks him to walk away from this one, but Bullseye isn't going for it. Deadpool keeps talking to Mercedes like he knows her, but she can't tell who he until he calls her "Angel."
