Deadpool (1997-2002) #21
by Livesay, Joe Kelly, Walter McDaniel
In this issue, we begin with Culloden talking to Sarah, who is panicking because Deadpool took off in a very powerful suit during their field test. This suit is something that LL&L created to help him in his quest. However, Deadpool proves to them that he doesn't need the suit when he turns off the safety measures and goes into the field with a gun and no suit... Of course he talks himself up as he makes it through the course. Afterwards, Culloden tells Deadpool that he has to kill a thing called Tiamat, who was named for the Babylonian chaos dragon who is dedicated to the destruction of order. Deadpool teleports to where he left Al in the park and tells her that he can't believe the thing he is destined to be is a murderer.
Culloden fights her way to see Monty and discovers that Dixon has mind wiped him. She teleports to Deadpool's house, where Deadpool was just drunkenly talking to the Teletubbies on his TV.
Meanwhile, at LL&L, Dixon admits that his plan is only based on the old prediction from Monty and that they can't get a more recent update because Monty isn't recovering as well as he had hoped when they did a level eight mind wipe. Noah can't believe that Dixon ordered the wipe on Monty, but Dixon says the carry out of the Mithras Directive would be worth it. Later, we see Noah thinking about how he will stand up to Dixon. We also find out that Dixon is planning to make the messiah landing invisible to anyone who may want to stop it. Right at the end of the issue, Dixon orders Noah to go fix an issue in Puerto Rico. When Noah leaves, Dixon asks God for forgiveness for sending Noah on that mission.
