When I'm asked who my favorite comedian is, Bo Burnham is the one that comes to mind immediately. I love his his songs, his comedy shows, and now- his poetry! I loved that I could read these poems in Bo's voice. A few I remembered from some of his stand up shows. Unfortunately, a few of the poems I just didn't understand. But I loved most of them!
These poems are a lovely mix- funny, thought-provoking, sad, political, raw, heartwarming, dark... I loved how Bo's writing can draw you right in, but then takes a twist that catches you totally by surprise. And the drawings by Chance Bone were lovely!

Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography
Antony Hare, David Javerbaum, Neil Patrick Harris
What a clever way to write an autobiography! I used to love choose your own adventure books when I was younger so when I saw this book, I knew I had to check it out! I wasn't disappointed- this book was so much fun!! But it wasn't just excitement and laughter, it was also honest and very touching, with a sprinkle of magic, drink mixtures, and special letters from guests. I read through this book SO many times, following different paths to see where they would lead. NPH has created an amazing autobiography here. I would highly recommend this to anyone!
Phew... This was a tough read for me. Don't get me wrong, it was a very engaging story that I easily got lost in. However, the subject matter was tough. I have a really hard time reading about the lives of people with extremely religious/political beliefs and in this story, there was a bit of both.
Kambili, her brother, and their mothers lives are completely controlled by their extremely religious father that punishes them for a wide variety of "sins". Even when their father wasn't physically present, we saw just how tight a hold he had on the family through the thoughts that Kambili had.
Throughout the story, the punishments that their father gave seemed to become worse and worse. Luckily, the siblings were able to go visit their Aunt for a time to learn what life was like outside of their home, and then again when things got really bad back at their home.

"Just be happy, and if you can't be happy, do things that make you happy. Or do nothing with the people that make you happy."
Oh my. I absolutely loved this collection of journals, letters, sketches, and more...I don't know what else to say besides that it was a blessing to read this book by/about Esther Grace Earl.

“Everyone’s got something. Some people are just better actors than others.”

Oh my gosh...I absolutely loved this book. I struggled to put it down, so once you begin reading, prepare to be totally sucked in. It was such a beautiful, heart-breaking, and inspiring story about OCD. So many parts of this hit me right in the feels, and there was a bit towards the end that gave me goosebumps all over my body when I was reading. I would definitely read this book again, and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
My Favorite Lines:
“Still, I can hear this one thought hiding in the dark corners of my mind. It doesn’t attack like the others, but it’s frightening in a totally different way. Because it’s the one that never leaves. And it’s the one that scares me most. What if I’m crazy?”
“Everyone’s got something. Some people are just better actors than others.”
"And I want to stop, but I can't, because telling someone with OCD to stop obsessing about something is like telling someone who's having an asthma attack to just breathe normally."
"...embrace who you are and surround yourself with people who do the same."

A perfecting ending to a lovely series! I highly recommend this trilogy.
Favorite lines:
"The trouble with the merely unwise/deeply stupid line is that you often don't know which side you're on until its too late."
"Doubt is the pinprick in the life raft."
"Just a story. It had become one of the defining truths in my life that, no matter how I tried to keep them flattened, two-dimensional, jailed in paper and ink, there would always be stories that refused ti stay bound inside books. It was never just a story. I would know: a story had swallowed my whole life."

I'm really struggling with rating this book... Don't get me wrong, Malala's story is absolutely incredible! She is so strong and vocal about what she believes in and I admire that. This book however, was not really what I was expecting. A large chunk of the book focused on the history of Pakistan. While I think that is something that everyone should read about, it was a major struggle for me. Not only because the information itself is hard to read about with all the violence and such, but because history is just not my subject. I would highly recommend this book to everyone and I would absolutely call it a "must read," but I wouldn't tell anyone that it is an "easy read."
I think this book was my favorite of the series so far! Quite a bit of it was predictable, but there were enough twists and turns to keep things fresh. I love Cinder and Throne, I really like Kai, but Iko is still by far my favorite character. I can't wait for the next one!
I REALLY enjoyed this book! I was so happy to read more from Cinder's storyline and I was thrilled that Iko came back! Cinder and Iko are by far my favorite characters in this series so far. When Iko first appears, I was cracking up at the things she was saying. I also liked how Cinder and Scarlet's storylines merged though I felt like Scarlet's storyline was a bit...off? I think I feel that way because of her and Wolf's relationship. It kind of weirded me out. Obviously it was a play off of Little Red Riding Hood, but I wish it had been done a little better.
I loved this book! When I picked it up from the library I was shocked to see that it was over 800 pages long! It certainly didn't seem that long! The storyline had me totally hooked each time I picked up the book and read. I keep going back and fourth between a four star rating and a five star rating... So I may end up changing it again soon. I just have to say that I loved all the twists and turns, even though some of it was a bit predictable (which is totally understandable from the fairy tale side of things). I highly recommend this entire series. I will be rereading it soon!
