Still kind of reeling from the cliffhanger tbh. Can't believe Dawson did that to me.

I really loved this! It's not perfect, but my enjoyment of it was!

I called Theo's Secret the moment it's mentioned that warlocks aren't usually adepts. Of course, the characters don't know they're living in a novel involving gender based magic in the year of our lord 2022 so can be forgiven for missing the Trans element. The transfobia was sad and I would think Helena's reaction was a but over the top, had I not seen JKR (the Mundane High Priestess of TERFery in the UK) burn her world down on this very issue...

Truly majestic narration by Nicola Coughlan.

Some beautiful parts and an interesting look at the life of AKR. A bit too repetitive and sappy for my tastes though

I enjoyed this one a lot more than Legendborn, which I thought was fine, but didn't win me over. The machinations of a centuries old order with rigid rules and populated with teenagers just didn't interest me a whole lot. In this installment, we see a lot more of [mild spoilers]
the demon/human interactions outside the order and there is a greater emphasis on root craft. I enjoyed getting to meet some (partial) demons and learning that they're not as straightforwardly evil as they are painted by the order
. I'm definitely interested to see where this goes!
