Give me ALLLLLL the dirt about celebs behaving badly, lordie. It's fast-paced and raunchy, though I hadn't heard of DeuxMoi before reading this book. What's even more glorious is that we don't know which parts of this book are based in reality and which are exaggerated. There aren't many twists, apart from the *specific* dirty deeds that Duke Dudley gets up to, but it's just FUN. I loved it on audio, but I think that certain parts like DMs, texts, and newsflashes would've read better in written form.

This book definitely leans into the crime side of thriller, so be warned. That being said, I couldn't put it down! We follow Jenna, Donnie, and Nico in dual timelines, one from when they resided in a group home and the other in present day as they're being hunted down. So then the question comes to the reader - what have they done? I found Jenna's chapters the most interesting, though I wanted more details on exactly what went down at Savior House. It has twists and turns that I appreciated, though it's a bit of a departure from his previous 2 books. Temper your expectations accordingly and you'll enjoy.

Well damn.
This really wrapped up the series nicely and finally gave us what we all wanted... Sexy man in a full-time kilt. I love a good bad boy in a romance. But more than that, we also get the story of a woman trying to figure out what she really *wants* in life. And it isn't focused on a man!! Love that for Lulu. I also really enjoyed the focus on tarot and fortune telling throughout. Catch me listening to Whiskey in the Jar on repeat.

Very witchy overall, gory at times. I just got really discombobulated with the audio in discerning what was the past and present and who was narrating each chapter. It made me not appreciate the plot as much, which I did enjoy. I may have to reread a physical copy and amend this review later.
Sometimes you just need a cozy mystery and Olivia Blacke always delivers. Coffee, records, and murder? Yes please. I knew I would adore this book from the punny title alone, but I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. Juni as a heroine is absolutely adorable and I am team Teddy Garza ALL THE WAY. (Like seriously if you like Beau, wtf). I did predict the killer about halfway through, but the twists and turns were still really enjoyable. It had so many red herrings! But seeing a tightly knit family, a small business just starting out, and a teeny tiny Texas town is my cozy kryptonite. And there are SO many gems in this book, from Prankenstein to pecan waffles, I'm in love with Cedar River.

To keep it short: This psychological thriller slaps. We love an unreliable narrator, especially when it's mixed with a disappearance or murder, and this one is phenomenally done. As a sleepwalker myself, it can be really disconcerting to wake up somewhere new or recall a dream that actually happened in real life. It's honestly terrifying. Isabelle Drake is persistent in her search for her son, even a year after his disappearance. You find yourself questioning the entire time what she's capable of and what truly happened to Mason. It's gaslighty, psychotic, and torturously paced - really a great book for any thriller fan.
And the ENDING. We love a twist and Stacy Willingham delivered. I haven't read A Flicker in the Dark yet, but I think I have to pick it up now.

Audio on point, full of vocal effects, music, and just impeccable vibes. I didn't remember much from the first book but was brought back up to speed real quick. I loved getting to see a bit more of avatars that were skipped over in the first book, especially fellow STEM queen Padmini. I do think that you have to embrace the kitschiness of the concept coming in, but it certainly packs a punch. It's busy at times and chaotic throughout, but I loved every minute of it.
Lyrical, elegant, and modern fantasy - you love to see it. I felt like this book really wrapped the Elements of Cadence duology up nicely without feeling like it was a trilogy smashed into a duology. It's impeccably paced without that typical 500+ page drag and really lets us sink into the world. We get to see more of the spirits, the Breccans, and just EVERYONE. I feel like in the last book, we didn't have as great of an understanding of the characters so they couldn't really get into the deep dark stuff, but man.... here it is amazing. Also there's some steam for y'all who like a fantasy romance, and a glorious ending that made me squeal. Fabulous job, Rebecca Ross.

Peak holiday vibes and an automatic December must-read. I love B.K. Borison's writing so much, even if seeing La La as a nickname gave me Teletubbies flashbacks. This book is about comfort, gestures small and grand, and a feeling of holiday joy. I read these out of order (in typical chaotic fashion), but it actually made it even more fun watching Evelyn and Beckett interact. This book can definitely be read any time of year, but it's extra special during winter. There's just something so simple about Stella and Luka that makes my heart go pitter patter. And crave grilled cheese, but that's something else entirely. But ultimately... READ THIS BOOK!!
There are so many different stories here, so it's perfect for a slump. I loved seeing some of Rainbow Rowell's previous characters like Reagan, Beth, and Lincoln, and the new ones too! There was a mix of contemporary romance and some weirder meta fantasy - both very enjoyable. My favorite stories were described as "girl meets boy camping outside a movie theater" and "a prince romances a troll". Listening on audio was a little disorienting for the short stories, just because we transitioned from story to story so quickly. But overall a solid set of stories!
