I’m not sure this is 100% my genre, but I have to say I enjoyed the to and fro between the characters as well as their ‘aside’ thoughts immensely, brought to life so well by the voice actors who duetted on the audio. Personally, I didn’t really get the ‘dark’ side of their romance, I found it all a bit creepy and unsettling but I can see why, if you love dark romance, this would be so popular.

With a varied pace, this was a book that grew on me. Definitely falling into the psychological drama genre, it’s a slow burn novel with an ending I personally found very satisfying. Great tension building throughout with plenty of morally grey characters. I enjoyed the dual timeline narrative and the slow disclosure of secrets

Nate and Izzy meet on a flight which plummets just 90 seconds after take off, and In The Likely Event follows them as fate intervenes and brings them together over the years. They meet latterly in Afghanistan in a war zone where Nate is Izzy’s security detail - filled with longing, romance and peril I really enjoyed this read.
adventurous informative mysterious

Filled with adventure, mystery and peril, The Rush is the story of three women during the Klondike Gold Rush. Brought together by the death of one woman they all knew in different ways, this is a story that tells of how things were for women.

Fantastic historical fiction that interweaves real events (albeit with a creative license on timeline) with characters inspired by people who lived it. It pulled me in from the very start and I raced through it. Unique and wonderfully written, it held me in its thrall throughout.

This one definitely gave spicy Nicholas Sparks vibes, and I loved it!! It was recommended to me, and I admit I went in sceptical, but it was the breath of fresh air I needed. Drama, romance and dancing - a wonderful escapist read that held my hand perfectly whilst I was in my sickbed! I’m holding off on reading Fourth Wing because I can’t stand waiting for the next one in series to arrive, so prefer to go in when it’s complete - but I’ll definitely be seeking out back catalogue reads!

A twisty tale of family, sisterhood and trauma. It follows the Kellaway sisters, beautiful actress Winter and her younger sisters, Jen and Alyssa. After a tragic accident rips the family apart, a very public court case looks to uncover buried truths.

A tense read with a great sense of sisterhood. Morally grey characters, yet rounded characters, and a detective Saul Anguish who has some disturbing hobbies. It seems to be part of a series, which I found quite confusing as I hadn’t realised this, but the continuing storyline with Saul and Blue seemed very separate to the Kellaways, to the point that it could have worked as a standalone easily.
Really enjoyable and I’d be keen to read more from the author!

Everything I’ve come to expect from Lesley Pearse, loveable characters on a rollercoaster of emotions. While her earlier novels remain my absolute favourites, this is a worthy addition to my collection. Set during my favourite time setting - WWII, it follows Mary Price as an unexpected meeting with a new friend leads to a whole new life. Enjoyable and just a warm hug of a book!

Easy to listen to and I enjoyed the multiple timeline narratives throughout. Loved the idea of the dollhouses concealing secrets, thought that was really beautifully done.

Having previously enjoyed another title from Jack Jordan, I was really looking forward to reading Redemption. For me, I think it falls short of the previous. It just went a bit too out there for me, and it infuriated me that
Tobias was racing through the desert trying to stop Evelyn from murdering Aaron to save her, yet she’d already murdered two people for far less than revenge
Still, it was enjoyable and pacy, greatly entertaining (if that’s the word to associate with a murderous rampage!!) ideal for switching off when on holiday.

Cinematic in scope, Atmosphere blew me away. Subtitled ‘a love story’ and so it is, in so many ways; romantic love, friendship, family and a passion for the stars. Joan and Vanessa meet when training to be astronauts with NASA. At this point I thought it would lose me, I can’t say space travel has ever done much for me, but I may need to revise that point of view as I’m looking at the night sky longingly and mulling over all the philosophical moments of the book. I was fully invested, desperate to read on and I loved the evolution of Joan’s character, who simultaneously grew, yet stayed true to who she was too. I loved Evelyn Hugo, but I love Atmosphere even more.
