this was good and fun for the most part BUT every summer after was better imo. i didn’t feel the same connection between younger elliot and macy as i did with sam and percy idk

also the authors never addressed the fact that elliot was literally raped at a nye party??

HOW is this book not more popular???? EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!

there were a handful of these that were really quite good, but the vast majority of the poems were tired, self important, and vacuous. this would’ve gone triple platinum on tumblr in its hay day. she’s too old to be romanticizing this kind of abuse and toxicity man.

i liked getting a bit of a deeper look into her relationships though!! i would love to hear her write more of her story in maybe a memoir, but she should leave the poetry alone in my opinion.

4.5 stars rounded down. i can’t get enough of this series!!!!!!!!!
