A really interesting delve into the lives of two sisters from childhood through adulthood, and what it means to be female during that span of time. By the end of the book, Bethie and Jo feel like close companions. This comes at a good time with the “me too” movement and gives some interesting perspective on life in the 60s and 70s.

An absolutely unique take on a group of people becoming the “avatars” of New York City. I love the diversity and representation of the boroughs in this fantasy that I couldn’t put down. So well written (with amazing vocabulary; honestly I was looking up a lot of words!). Can’t wait for more in this series!

A good concept about, but one of those “could’ve been a blog post” reads.

Wow. Yes. This book is a must-read for Christians in 2021. With anger, quick decisiveness, division, and strong opinions at the forefront of Christian thought, this book brings us back to the right way to confront our neighbor: gentleness. All about finding kindness and following the love of Christ to turn away from the hostility causing so much division in our church and country today.
