Thanks to Let's Talk Books Promo and Berkley for the copy of this book.
This book is such a fun read. Is it a bit cheesy? Yes. Was I laughing out loud very often? Also yes.
Cassie is about to be evicted when she stumbles upon a semi-shady ad for a $200 room in someone's realllllly nice place. Since she's desperate, she answers and meets ~the most gorgeous man she's ever seen.~ Frederick J. Fitzwilliam is EXTREMELY old school and awkward since he's been in a hundred-year coma, which is where the hilarity ensues. There are also great side characters and romance in this book, along with an absolutely ridiculous "help end the arranged marriage" storyline, and it was just honestly so enjoyable. Definitely a good pick if you need something more lighthearted around spooky season!

I think I'm one and done with military romance, but five stars for Teddy Hamilton.

A sliding door story told in parallel alternate timelines that will leave you choked up and holding your kids a little tighter and longer. In one timeline, Kate's daughter Olivia drowns in the ocean while Kate is on her phone. In the other, Olivia survives.
This is hard subject matter and every parent's worst nightmare, but it is done so well. It's an exploration of "what if" and how small moments can make a big impact. It definitely had me thinking through how I live my life and is a concept that will stay with me for awhile.
Highly recommend the audio of this one - Brittany Pressley is one of my favorite narrators!

DNF at 30%. I tried the audiobook of this one, because I just haven't had a lot of time for physical books this summer. I'm not sure if it was that the narrator was an older woman and the main characters are definitely not old women and that threw me off, or this story isn't for me, but I just could not get into this one. I was ready to DNF at 15%, but wanted to give it some more time because I read some reviews that said it's fast-paced and twisty, but I am not finding it to be either of those things.

I’m currently in my fantasy era, and was PUMPED to start a vampire slayer / romance book.. Sharina Harris writes an incredible cast of Black characters and sets up the magic system much like Legendborn - sourced in the darkness of generational trauma. There’s lots of action in this book, especially in the last 20%, which sets us up for the next book in the series. While some of the plot was easy to predict, it was really entertaining to watch it play out. However, the structure of the book was a bit chaotic - it went back and forth between YA and NA, had inconsistent world / magic system building, and many scenes and plot points very similar to Harry Potter.

Based on the real-life murders of Ted Bundy, Bright Young Women is a perfect fictional read for true crime junkies. Told in dual POV, we hear Pamela's story as head of a sorority where two sisters are murdered, and Ruth, whose disappearance leads Tina to fly across the country in an attempt to find the man responsible. As Pamela and Ruth intersect, the stereotypes of women are tested and the mystery unfolds.
One of my favorite parts of this book is that the "Defendant" remains nameless. Ted Bundy was the first "celebrity" serial killer, and let's be honest - most people can identify his name and not those of his victims. I love that this is reversed in this book. This is dark subject matter, but really well written!

This is a book with so much heart and depth admist the romance that it's hard to put down! Andie does an incredible job writing really relatable FMCs and I thought both the friendship and romance were really well done. Fly with Me shows that life throws us all hardships and curveballs and tough relationships, but having someone to learn on to go through it all makes all the difference.
