my kobo has informed me that this took me 15 hours to read... so that's a fun fact.
I really, really enjoyed this. This series is not without its flaws, and I have some serious issues with Manon and some of her character arc, but I am glad I read this. It's always bittersweet to finish a series, especially one such as this that I feel like I've been reading for so long. This book has almost rekindled my love for the series, though, and maybe I'll go back to recommending it to people. The last couple books just spent so much time introducing characters that felt like they had no purpose and it got really frustrating.
Anyways, overall, I enjoyed this and I think Maas ended it in a great way.
4/5 stars.

3.5/5

this was wholesome and weird and creepy and fun and sad and it was just a good time and I enjoyed it. plus it's a stand-alone so the pain that the endings of the cruel prince gives me isn't there. 5/5.

GOD OUCH THE ENDING

also I thought this was a duology???? oop.

WOWOWOW
I really, really loved this. The world was so rich, the characters were so dense, it was like eating an amazing piece of chocolate cake. I am so excited for this to be released into the world.
(If you liked The Star-Touched Queen/Crown of Wishes, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, King of Scars, read this!)

Some people really like this book and some people don't as much, but I really did absolutely love this book. It reminded me so much of V.E. Schwab's Vicious and Vengeful, but also of McGuire's Mira Grant pseudonym (of which I've only read Into the Drowning Deep). But it was dark and gritty, but also fun and sci-fi. And sibling-focused development always gets me because I have a really great relationship with my sister. I just loved it.

obviously I've read this out of order, but I knew the gist of the series, and honestly I think I was fine going into this novella anyways. I enjoyed it! 4/5!

I can't believe this took me so long to read. Of course I loved it. No, I didn't think it was slow, I just thought it was political.

started this on audiobook, but because it's been awhile since I've read the first, I had to switch to reading cause it was taking a bit longer than usual to figure out what was going on.
Still loved it, though! 4/5 stars

I don't know how to express ALL MY FEELINGS SO MANY FEELINGS
(4.5/5)

Re-read February 1st, 2018: still 4.5/5. I was bored in a few places and just skimmed, I still had many feelings and enjoyed the read though

Re-read April 30th: gotta lower this down to 4/5 stars - just not as good as ACOMAF reading it back to back.

Re-read March 2021: yeah, 4/5. The first two thirds I love but that last third is kinda useless, just a lot of easy wrap ups and sub-par battle writing.
