I wish I would have enjoyed this more than I did. I found it too slow and boring, the writing too simplistic. I do wonder if maybe I should have waited to read this or read it sooner, but I built it up as one thing in my mind and I didn't get it. I still enjoyed it and would recommend it, but I think this just wasn't for me.

Another teen sports romance done, and I still love them. This one had too little an amount of baseball talk (I love me some baseball) and it was kinda sexist at times in an old-town, middle of america sort of way. It was actually pretty progressive, however (surprisingly).
TW before going into this book: suicide, attempted suicide, self harm
I may or may not give this a fuller review later, we'll see.

For some reason I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this, I think it's because the last romance/sport books I read was a disaster. I had a lot of fun reading this and was constantly interested in the plot and characters, and guessing what was going to happen next. Plus, we're in the middle of baseball season and as a Jays fan, I loved that.
The only problems a I found was with the character development, and the little plot details. There are several things that are presented in the plot as huge complications in the character's lives that seemed to be terribly brushed off by the end in favour of the character's relationship working out. It was just too easy. I also found a large lack of character development, and if there was it felt choppy to me. But that's just my opinion.
Anyways, I would recommend this, but you do have to have a least a bit of baseball knowledge.

Cute and fun with great writing, but it just seemed unnecessary.
