I wanted a light-hearted book, easy and engaging enough for me to really want to read. I got exactly that, and it was so much better and weirder than I expected. I read a book about love, about self, about... Honestly any words or any words about it that aren't Norton's feel inadequate, not enough.
A little weird, but good weird, definitely as it progresses.
Takes tropes and completely, perfectly owns them and makes them it's own.
And as another review said: The characters were so realistic -- even with the body swapping, the relationships (romantic and platonic friendship) were so engaging, and the storyline was so different from anything else I've ever read that I couldn't put this book down.

short version: liked it and if you liked other grishaverse books youll like this one (though i know liking crows doesnt mean you liked s&b and other way around, but still. I would say this is like a mix of the two, but like, if your favorite things about the other series are specific characters then you wont find most of the crows hanging out being iconic)
long version: its in a difficult position of having characters we already know, but a lot of things about them are different. So storylines like Nina's relationships with the people around her may be a bit weird at first, but they definetely all grew on me and I love the direction her story takes at the end. same goes for what Nikolei gets himself into. Overall, I enjoyed the last third of the book the best and really liked what they did with most characters though I'd like to see a few of them more in action in the second one.
when it comes to her writing, ive always had mixed feelings, but i think i can identify them now, I think her best moments are when she switches to first person pronouns, i just feel it fits better with her style and it makes it easier for me to connect with the characters. The way she does povs normally wasnt exactly my cup of tea though im still not sure why, but its okay. there were moemnts that i was very very moved and got all emotional and excited and moments when i know didnt reach their full potential with me. I like the magic I like the ending yes a lot. I like how we got a deeper view intoZoya's past experiences and how it addressed things about the darkling and I feel that that really completed the image of what happened in previous books.
the mourder suicide felt almost iconic though im not sure whether that is slightly ruined by the fact that she didnt actually die or not
cant believe the you and i are going to change the world line is someting he said to zoya such a shame so many people wont know that its one of his iconic lines and think its just a darklina thing (not an attack on darklina i just like knowing that its bigger than that because thats what i expected it to be from thebeginning)

I really love her writing is the number one thing i want to say. The way she presents thoughts with her parentheses and all and just in general the way she writes
The way she developed the characters, and i had no problem switching around in their heads , plus i really loved , again, the way she did it, how swiftly she moved through them , sometimes incredibly quickly. Love the way something new and good came out of another story ( there's a question here about whether or not that's what always happens, sometimes more obviously than others )
I think the personal problems of the characters were quite realistic, the intimacy scenes were incredibly real and i appreciated that a lot. We see intimacy scenes too perfect and unreal a lot and its fine but i really liked that she took a different route with this one.
An overall really nice trilogy

A lot of telling not showing. It kinda works but when it comes to like to tamlin who goes from just a guy with not much of a personality to this cartoonish villain it feels sloppy and lazy
The characters are simple and blunt but can be somewhat interesting and fun if you're in the mood for it.
It's nothing revolutionary, but overall it can be a fun book.
One thing I did really like is that in general she tries to have Feyre somewhat move the story forward not just stand there being powerfully without actually doing anything. Its a slowpaced book so it's not like it hapoens all the time. But credit to her for that.
For the series in general so far I would say that I enjoy reading them and there's definitely potential for the characters and relationships to be fun to read.
BUT the writing just takes me out sometimes. Even though generally it's okay, there are scenes that I just don't enjoy reading at all even though imaging them in my head I can see how they may have been pretty and fun and how they could've hit the points I think she was trying to make. But there are phases while reading that I'm just sitting there not enjoying a few of her choices in the slightest, slightly wondering what jn the world I'm reading
