Always been a fan of the author's books and this one wasn't any different. It was a touching listen that I found quite enjoyable. Can't wait to listen to the next one.

Enjoyed the story and the narration. Was a sweet story with a couple that works well together.

First off, I have to say that I deeply enjoyed this book. If not for some health issues I probably would've flew through it much faster than I did. Even given those issues I still found it hard to put down and not devour even when so exhausted I could barely hold my eyes open. I recommend this book for so many reasons. One obvious reason being that it is written by the brilliant Neil Gaiman whose books I've found are vastly enjoyable the more I read his works. Another being that, even as an adult, it left me wide-eyed and filled with awe at point. There were parts where I laughed, parts where I wished I could've been in this world on such adventures, parts where I wanted to hold the characters or protect them, and more.

Second off, if you have seen the movie prior to reading the book a bit of advice: do not go into it with the movie in mind. There are always going to be differences between a movie/TV series and a book. That is just how the dice rolls. In this case, aside from a few parts of the tale itself and the main goal of the story, this book is completely different from the movie. It has not made me dislike the book any, or disappointed me in it, as I said above that I loved it. Neither did it make me dislike the movie as I recognize things such as budget and time constraints, and alterations that need be made as sometimes written storytelling does not translate well to visual storytelling. I think they did it justice though part of me wishes they had not changed so much for some of it could've went without being altered as in any case of a book to movie/TV situation.

Other than that all I can say is that if you enjoy fairy tales, myths, wonder, magic, love, adventure, and more? Pick up this book. Read it. It's wonderful.

To Come

Definitely glad I picked this up for a casual holiday read. The story was sweet and I enjoyed the characters. Definitely going to look into more by this author. And I also enjoyed the narrator.

This was such a wonderful and delightful read. The characters are interesting on their own though even more when together. And the story itself conveys well the emotions felt by each. I wanted to wrap them both in blankets and give them something warm to drink at varying parts. Also the parents of both characters are great. I enjoyed them a lot.

As for narration, it was done well. At first I didn't like the Jonas' speaking voice, but the narrator eventually toned it down to something that was much better and that I was able to enjoy. Otherwise no complaints as it was beautifully read.

Oh, I absolutely loved this story. It even made me tear up. The main characters were just a delight, the children were precious, Patrina's family were great, and well... *that woman* was definitely the only person I didn't like and I don't feel bad about it either. She was clearly only concerned with herself. Otherwise, I guess my only issue is that I wish we would've got some more of Patrina with Weston's son. As for the performance the narrator did an amazing job especially with the distinctive voices for each character.

Honestly I don't know what to say except that this book was the "epilogue" to The MacKinnon's Bride I'd both wanted and didn't know I'd wanted. This series and the others it entwines with are one of my top favorites in romance. There's not a book I haven't enjoyed yet. I can now add this one to the list. And the narrator did a wonderful job given the number of characters that showed up in this epic gathering.

While I found the characters interesting and the plot itself really sweet. . . it felt to me like there was too much left unexplored especially in regards to the emotional baggage both being carried (double for the MMC given he is a father). And with how short the story is we barely get an HEA and what it needed desperately to make it a solid HEA was an epilogue about them instead of a flashback that told us something we(the reader) already had been told.

I also struggled a bit with the narrator whose voice for the MMC felt odd at times and felt too upbeat during certain solemn scenes.

Beyond that it wasn't an unenjoyable listen, just not as satisfying as I thought it'd be given how much I enjoyed the premise and characters.
