This is just not for me. The descriptions of the mechanical animals was too much. It seems I'm not just sensitive to the pain of living animals but also mechanical animals with AI chips as well. 

I am just not currently into this type of book. I got really bored with it which sucks because I wanted to like it. It sounds so interesting.

Personal trauma,

as someone who lost their mother at a young age it's just not something I can read about. It feels like Coco is going to spend the rest of her life trying to save her mother. And it might not even be possible. And that hits far to close to home.

 

After reading 30% into this book and re-checking the content warnings I've decided to put it down. I'm not well enough to read this book right now. I will say that it is extremely beautifully written.

I can't see Emmett go through anymore terrible things.

 

I'm just in an emotionally bad place right now.

And I can't handle reading about the two main characters (who I adore) being treated like garbage.

I am genuinely enjoying this book though. So, I hope to return to this book later when I'm doing better.
