I requested and received this book from NetGalley, my opinions are my own.

This is a cute graphic novel about friendship, family legacy, and the delicate balance of nature. I didn't expect it to be so heartbreaking, but I am a softie. I loved this book. I loved learning about and seeing all the fantastical fauna. I loved the characters and the story. I loved the way this book casually teaches about invasive species through fantasy. I'm so glad and grateful that I had the opportunity to read the ARC.

This poetry collection packs a massive punch. I highly recommend reading it. Be warned though, there are many moments in this book that are enraging. Moments that parallel things that have happened and continue to happen in real life.

I want to say I never thought I'd become  emotionally attached to robotic beetles, but I did. It is so easy to love the characters in these poems. They are just like us: angry, overworked, lonely and scared but somehow still hopeful.

The way Mahaila Smith writes inspires me. I hope the read more soon.

I saw "Monster High" and jumped at the chance to read this ARC. I didn't even realize it was volume one, the cliff hanger was perfect (but I'm still mad about it. The extra art pages included did help though.) I love the design and aesthetic of Monster High I think this comic book captures it beautifully. I'm already so excited for volume two.  "Monster High: New Scaremester" is a collection of previously published comics, but this was my first time reading any of them.

I'm so invested in the story, both the petty high school drama and the overarching mystery. The queer characters were an unexpected surprise that I loved. I was not expecting certain characters to be together but love what it's added to the story. I have so many theories and questions and I'm so excited for volume two!

Overall this was an entertaining read. It was great to step back into the world of "Monster High". Although I did feel like I was missing something. It has been a while since I watched the films though. I guess it's time for a rewatch While I wait for volume two.

This book is so important, I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read it. Especially right now. This is the first book I've ever read that focused on sex and disability, specifically queer sex and disability. I've read so many essays, memoirs, and poetry collections about queerness and/or disability but rarely both and never this open.

I wish I had this book in my early twenties for the deep dive on ableism and the disabled sex ed. Ableism is painful I know from experience. Books like this one would have helped me recognize ableism for what it was.

My favorite parts of this book were "My dream club What I wish accessibility in queer spaces actually looked like" and "The Importance of Representation". I'm a creative person and they got my creative juices flowing. I believe this book is a great resource for both sex educators and creative people. I think a lot of creative writers are afraid to write disabled characters. Especially in Romance, Romantasy, and Erotica. And I believe this book is a great doorway to overcoming that fear and internalized ableism.

Overall I loved this book. I really needed it right now. Everyone will experience disability at some point in their life and everyone deserves to feel hot and desirable. Both should be able to happen at the same time. I've got a lot of thoughts rolling around in my head about this book. I hope it inspires more disabled people to talk about the intersections of disability, queerness, and sex.
fast-paced

These are a bit different than I remember. My mom taught me a lot of these rhymes, but some I'd never heard before. Also the art for Humpty Dumpty is mildly terrifying.
