I really liked the beginning but as I kept reading I found it harder and harder to focus on it. My attention kept wondering, and when I would stop I immediately got the feeling that I was forgetting what I just read. Maybe I'll try it when I'm more in the mood for this type of a story.

This felt like a wattpad story. All of the characters were acting very judgmental, there was a shaming/judgmental quote almost every chapter that I read. The whole beginning with her boss made me so uncomfortable.
The way that he kept teasing her at the conference call about seeing her underwear and then never fully acknowledging it when they meet at his office. It also said he would peek under her closed to see if she is wearing his favourite bra... what? And their bonding happens off page and the IVF thing that she confessed to him got resolved without further questioning from him, just a quote and the scene changed.
The constant inspirational quotes between the scene changes kept taking me out of the story. All of the characters felt shallow and they felt like caricatures of romance protagonists.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

If you plan on reading this book without re-reading the first book in the series, you better look up a summary. I read the chapter by chapter summary of Skyward before and it still felt a little jarring with the use of jargon and the places and names mentioned. I found that the first couple chapters weren't enough time to get us familiar with the story and the characters again. Characters took the backseat in this one. It's all just world expansion in the 50% that I read. I don't care for the new characters that are being introduced and since I'm not grasping all of the new information that got introduced in the beginning (because I don't remember much from the first book) I found it hard to care. So, I'm going to stop reading it since it's not enjoyable anymore. Maybe one day I'll decide to binge the whole series to give it the best possible shot.

It was one of those that when you are reading you are engaged but the moment you put it down you don't have the urge to pick it back up. But it might be because I didn't get that far into it.
Hoping to try again some time soon.

When ever I put the book down i didn't feal the need to pick it back up. The plot basically had no development at 50% mark and the characters were acting so differently then I remembered them behaving. And all of that combined made this book a tough  read for me, so I decided to stop reading and DNF.
