The plot and characters are a 3 star for me, but the last 15-20% gave me exactly what I was looking for with that spine-chilling creepiness! I really didn't care for the romance, I feel like this could have been a true horror if things had taken a different turn in some areas. The whole book I was being told about that feeling of being watched but didn't actually feel it until the end

Stunning atmosphere and imagery, this felt like a Ghibli movie and I loved that about it!
However it felt like all of these were happening just for the sake of it, it was one wild scenario after the next and most of it felt kind of pointless. I also didn’t care for the characters as much as I wanted to, and while the writing was beautiful I thought the dialogue was awkward
