This was so much fun!! Love the characters, love all the rep, the art is stunning, and I have SEVERAL new fictional crushes. Can’t wait for book two!

I really really wanted to like this but I couldn’t make myself care about anything that was happening

Fantastic memoir, it was great learning more about RuPaul outside of Drag Race and who he is behind the drag persona (I don’t think he even mentions RPDR once in this book, if I remember correctly?). Hearing him talk about the struggles he faced with addiction, homelessness, dysfunctional family and relationships, all while finding ways to keep his magic alive was beautiful. His tenacity for not only survival but also success is incredible. I do wish this book had been longer so it could have had the space the dig deeper, especially given the heavy subjects that are discussed. That’s the one thing I felt was missing, just that little bit of extra emotional connection

Full review to come but I really enjoyed this!! It wasn’t perfect, it kind of dragged a bit in some places, but for the most part it was fantastic and I’ll definitely be checking out more of this author in the future

There aren't words to describe how much I loved Half Wild! I will admit that it wasn't quite as good as Half Bad, but this one was so intense and suspenseful, and Green really has some amazing characters/character development. I'm still in shock from the last couple chapters and having a hard time functioning because WOW! Just wow!!


2015 Reading Challenge: A book with magic

I really liked the setting and the plot in this book! It felt very atmospheric, and the plot kept me interested the whole way through. I wasn’t huge of the characters though, I have a really hard time taking 18 year old gangsters seriously (the reason I DNF’d Six of Crows). I literally laughed out loud when the one character said something about wanting to squeeze the other girl’s heart in her hand or whatever she said. So dramatic lol. And the romance was pretty cringe for me. I liked Layla though, I thought she was a great character!
