This is not at all what I thought it was going to be but it was delightful! I’m a sucker for a found family, and also for the trope of monsters or robots learning to love. This was such a lovely reading/listening experience

After reading the description of this book and seeing that it took place during the time where Grace and Hudson were stuck, I really didn’t have any interest in reading it. I thought it was just going to be 600 pages of filler and romance, and while I love Grace and Hudson as a couple I didn’t much care to read a book that long of it. But I’m so glad I did pick it up, it’s one of my favourites in the series so far! I loved the setting, the side characters, the plot was really interesting, and the romance was so good. I loved seeing their relationship blossom and the life they built together. Can’t wait to get to the next book!

There were elements of this I liked, and others that I reeeally didn’t like. The ending felt very Scooby Doo “if it weren’t for you meddling kids”, the characters weren’t super interesting to me, and the plot was pretty basic. But I liked the world, I loved the sense of family and the relationships between characters, and the themes of the book were well done. Overall it’s not one that will stick with me for a long time, but it wasn’t bad

A little predictable but still a whole lot of fun! I’m a sucker for books that take us to the spirit world of any culture, so this was bound to be right up my alley. I loved the combination of fantasy with a bit of sci fi, all the videos games and cool tech and how that shaped the fantasy legends. This was a fantastically crafted world and I can’t wait for more!
