DAMN I was not expecting that! I thought this was going to be a pretty typical YA fantasy, and in a lot of ways it is. But it’s executed in such a way that while the setup and plot and characters are all familiar, it still felt fresh and unique and kept me turning pages faster than I could blink. In terms of the technical aspects of this book, all the plot devices and character development etc., it’s probably closer to a 4 star read. But I had to give it that extra star just purely for enjoyment, I seriously couldn’t put this down

Giant robots fighting to the death is something I don’t read nearly enough of, but anytime I do I love it! This was so much and a super quick read, thoroughly enjoyed

I probably should have reread the first book before starting this, I didn’t really have a clue what was going on most of the time. But I picked up the plot eventually and it was good, not amazing and definitely not as good as book 1, but I still had a great time reading this. Can’t wait for the next one!

Finally picked this one up after a 3 entire years of not getting around to it, I forgot how much I love this series! Hilarious and heartwarming

It took me a bit to get into the story, but once I did I was hooked! The writing is beautiful, I loved the atmosphere, and it was really fun trying to piece together the mystery. Overall a great read, I’m very much looking forward to the sequel!
