It’s rare that I read a story for the actual story line, but this series is that type of book. The author writes in a way that you can easily picture everything happening inside your head. They give just enough detail to fill in the blanks from book one and give you even more breadcrumbs for the next book.
In this book, you get relationship building mostly, sprinkled with folk lore and tiny hints at what the next book will be about. There isn’t a lot of spice, but again I read this book for the story line, and what you do get is good; Warwick’s scene is my favorite in this book.
The author knows how to write an ending. You got a surprise, that I didn’t see coming, but the author didn’t leave a gaping cliff hanger. I just hope I don’t have to wait a year for the next book.

good read
This story is good. There no overboard of smut, action, or anything really. This story is really well balanced overall. There’s some push and pull with the FMC and men but that’s quickly resolved in a matter of 2 days and from there it’s pretty much smooth sailing for them. There are some good lines in the steamy bits, but again there isn’t huge detail on the scenes (there’s no dp); there is multiple men but they go one at a time.

This book is a bit of a mind twist. It’s multiple POV so you get insight from all the main characters. You follow Esmeralda as she meets the guys she’s been dreaming of for years and get drawn into a world that she’s been ignorant to.
The relationships between Esme and her guys are all surface level in this book; They connect simply because of fate, which I’m sure will be remedied in later books. But as of now, an unfinished series, this is quite annoying; to see them go zero to 100 is unrealistic. But you have to keep in mind this is a paranormal book as well so that’s to be expected.
I do like that there’s an actual plot outside of her harem coming together, and it is there the whole book in-between the crazy romance bits. The ending is what fell for me, I felt it was cut short and thrown together sloppily.

holy sit that was good
Fair warning, this is a DARK enemies-to-lovers story, meaning the girl somehow falls for The Who tortures and almost kills her!
That being said, the religious spin of this trope was new and intriguing. This book had so many elements that somehow worked together really well. There’s not a huge amount of spice, but you get major dom/alpha vibes from Malik when he finally stops fighting, and I am here for it.
