I felt a real disconnect with this book, and I can’t say why. The story line was fine, there’s an actual plot to this book. I think a big disconnect was how Thea can fall in love with Struan after seeing him just a handful of times over the course of 9 months. Most of their conversations were him being a jerk for things she couldn’t control or know. Unfortunately, the steam wasn’t good enough to make up for the under sight.

This story was really good. I liked the spin on Christianity lore. The ending was rushed in my opinion. I’m not sure why the author skipped a month’s time frame, which I feel could have been a good spot for relationship building and steamy bits.
The relationships between the FMC and the men were surface level at best, there was no reasons for why they all fell in love within 2 months; it was all “I don’t understand this pull but I’m done fighting it.”
This is supposed to be a duet, but I was unable to find any info on book two; which leaves these shortcomings unsolved.
