Very good start

This book is only the 1st in a series, but it gives you a wonderfully detailed backstory and, even better, doesn't leave you with a gaping cliffhanger, just sets up the storyline for the 2nd book, which I appreciate.

A good slowburn

The story is good. But the storyline is so slow that I struggle to stay interested. The potential is there, I just hope the next book is faster paced.
