well written coming of age novel with a nice romance sub-plot. i enjoyed the relationship with yuki and grace; felt natural and very romantic

is this what high school theater is like because i'm slightly terrified if so...they say band kids are bad but theater kids might take the cake

this book was boring. halfway through i remembered that i zoned out because this book wasn't hooking me enough to continue reading with my full attention. 

so powerful and so heart-wrenching. i cried like six times while reading this because it was simply so devastating. i highly recommend.

definitely not an easy book to read. when i first read it i promise you i probably understood like 60% of the book. however, on later readthroughs, i began to comprehend the tiny details, and this book sprang into full color for me. some of the most romantic writing i've ever read; geniunely such a strong novella and one of my favorite books

this book was boring and confusing. i had no idea what was going on in the plot at any given time. 

a truly stunning debut by rf kuang. grappling with feminism, war, colonialism, sexuality, and gender, it's actually crazy how kuang came ripping out of the gate with this book. hey venka if you need a 5'2 masc lesbian i'm right here girl

literally one of my favorite webcomics of all time. i love this story so much
