This hilarious novel was a joyous ride from start to finish. The story opens with a double murder, after which we get to know the seven distinct characters in the scandalous sisterhood on Prickwillow Rd. These girls are plucky, smart, and have you rooting for their mad plan of hiding their headmistress's untimely death. A charming murder mystery, this novel has all the structure of the genre with new and quirky twists. I would highly recommend it to any fans of Agatha Christie or Sherlock Holmes. A fantastically fun read.

This lyrically written novel was an adventure from start to finish. I fell in love with the characters and with Russia, which is almost a main character all on its own. The story creates a vivid and evocative vision of Russia at the end of its Imperial Age. The issue of the distribution of wealth which sparked the Red revolution was clearly shown and the beautifully rendered characters garnered sympathy for both sides. I look forward to seeing how Natalya and Leo continue to try to save Russia in the next book, and particularly how they deal with their fascinating new situation!
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves magic, justice, and sublime winter snows.

Not since Harry Potter has a book kept me this enthralled. I was caught up in every aspect of Fletcher's adventures, falling in love with all the characters he goes toe to toe with along the way. The world which they populate is just as magical as anything Rowling could dream up and left me with the same gleeful feeling. I eagerly look forward to the next book in this unique new series!
