Military horror is something I normally don't pick up. It hits too close to home. I never served myself, but my family is heavily military and I'm a bit too familiar with the aftermath of war. That being said, I'm really glad I read it. I wanted to stand up and cheer when Mr. Lynch wrote about how our veterans are mistreated after coming home. There is also a great story in this very well-written book. I'm looking forward to reading more by the author.

I really enjoyed this collection of short stories by Heather Miller. It was very easy to imagine these tales by told around a roaring campfire or by flashlight on a dark and stormy night. My favorite story was Safe House. Miller perfectly captured the feeling of irrational fear (and not so irrational) when you're a child. Highly recommended.

The story of a man who commits suicide and wakes up in a world of his own creation, straight out of an unfinished book was a very intriguing premise. Metafiction can get messy quite quickly, but this was handled quite deftly and came to a satisfying conclusion. It's also very well written and the world building is fantastic. I'm looking forward to reading more titles by Matthew Tait.
