A mystery has to do at least one of two things to be successful in my eyes. It can either be hard to figure out or it can do something clever, this unfortunately does neither.

I also didn’t like the characters but that could’ve been helped with a higher page count.

Pretty interesting world building. The characters are interesting as well but I feel like we really only got a surface level understanding of them (especially Sairis) and that we should know them better from the book that is supposed to be the introductory book in the trilogy.

The end felt rushed since at the climax, two characters come in to explain something that Eleanor really should’ve figured out for herself.

I would’ve also liked to have the mystery about what happened with Chloe pushed sooner to speed the pacing a little and also so more attention could be given to the now Eleanor instead of the her of a year ago.

The cursive makes this so difficult to read. I read a digital copy on a computer screen and can't imagine trying to get through a printed version.
