Ugh, I hate cliffhangers, but this one ended on a good (??) one! I enjoyed the story and am going to be happy when I can read The Student as the follow-up to hopefully resolve the storyline (i.e. not just end on another cliffie). Warren has a real gift for making unlikable characters intriguing, and the chemistry between the MCs is super hot. 🔥

As an Army veteran, I am truly a simp for anything military-coded. This story was a great combination of military, small-town, city girl in a coastal town, and solid spice, which is pretty much my romantic recipe of choice. I loved that Willow was driven and that energy was matched by Dallas in the best way. They say there's a thin line between love and hate, and James did a wonderful job of riding that line to a sweet HEA. 🥰
