This was my first book by Brighton Walsh, and I read it in 5 hours. 5. Hours. It was the perfect mix of tried and true romance tropes, characterization, spice, and heart. Obviously, it was grumpy/kind-of-sunshine (but maybe "brat" is a better descriptor?😏), but also the whole small-town vibe is a favorite of mine. Overall, it was a great way to spend an afternoon, and I will definitely be reading many more books by this author and in this world. 😍

I was genuinely pumped about getting to read the second Mae Marvel book. 💖 I'm not sure if it's me and my general malaise about the world writ-large, or whether there really was kind of a dip in the middle of the book, but until the last 20% or so, I was on the fence about the rating. It was heading for a 3.5, but the last bit saved it. I ended up crying happy tears, and so glad to see the FMCs really get the ending they deserved. Overall, it was well worth the read. 🥰

I really appreciate an author who takes a big swing, and writing a "choose your own adventure" romance feels like one of those. 💖 I tried to follow the instructions, but apparently I don't have D&D brain, so I don't think it worked entirely well, but that is more of a me thing than a book thing. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I will be reading book 2 in the duology because I wanna see how the story gets resolved. Definitely worth the read if you enjoy the gamification of anything. 🥳

 Jessa Wilder knows the job. 😍 I wasn't sure how she was gonna be able to make things "right", but I should have had faith that all would be well in the end. Callie, Colt, and Maverick were well-drawn characters, and there was just enough tension to make the resolution SO satisfying. If you like MMF (or poly of any kind, really), you will enjoy this bull riding romance for sure. 💕🐂

It's safe to say, if you enjoyed the movie Dirty Dancing, or the TV show So You Think You Can Dance, this book is going to be a delight. 😍 As a person who liked both of those, I enjoyed the story a LOT. I could have done without the drama, but honestly, can you have a group of creatives without any drama? Probably not. Also, while this is swoony, it is not super graphic, so if that is something you appreciate, look no further. 💖

I couldn't put this down. 😳 I started it and I couldn't stop - reading it in about 8 hours in one sitting (minus potty and food breaks). It was so...relatable is the wrong word, but I felt like I was the FMC when she was fighting negative thoughts and doubting herself. It's rare for me to feel so attached to what a character is going through, even though I have never had those exact experiences. This was swoony and romantic and all the things we like to see in a romance. 💖
