I have had this book on my TBR for several years. As a completist, I know that if I enjoy a series' first book, I'm gonna get sucked in, so I think I held off due to that. Good thing, cuz this was a really good first-book-in-a-series, and now I'm gonna have to read the rest. 🤣 Alice is such a great character to root for, and I look forward to reading how her relationships evolve, and what happens to the side characters in her world. 💖

This audiobook is one of the best I have listened to. Ever. And I've listened to a lot of audiobooks (cuz I'm old). The duet narration was perfection, and Adam Gold brought Cameron to life in a way that was stunning. I remember reading the book last year and thinking I didn't know of any actor who could do Cam's voice justice, and yet Holly June Smith managed to nab someone who understood 👏  the 👏 assignment. Fucking bravo, ma'am, bravo. 🥵🥵🔥🔥 Evelyn Rose as Hannah was perfection as well, but the story hinged on the spicy audio content creator, and it was everything I could have hoped for. 💖

This feels like a super unique world that is being built, and I am here for it! The magic system and mythology are intricate (and a lot to digest!), but leave a lot of room for the author to build on. I really enjoyed the protagonists of this book, but I am fascinated by the stories it seems to be setting up for in the future (i.e., Eryx and Rhiannon). Overall, it is a great start to a spicy urban fantasy series! ❤️‍🔥

I absolutely adore the way Erin Hahn tells a story. 😍 She makes me care about the characters she creates like they are members of my own extended family. She also has a real gift for pacing and building tension, and eschewing pointless thrid-act breakups. This is the 3rd book of interconnected standalones and I loved being able to check in on the previous stories' protagonists. And hallelujah for older MCs as well ... we got a 34 and 38 year-old who are living grown folk lives? Sensational. ❤️‍🔥
