What. A. Ride. 😝 This book specifically, but the duet overall, was steamy, emotional, and had several twists that I absolutely did not see coming. 🤯 I would say, for anyone reading these books, pay attention to the Content Note in the beginning...Wisecup is not messing around, and there are some heavy themes addressed in the story. Overall, this was just a beautiful, dark, love story. If that is something you enjoy, then this set of books will be right up your alley. 🥰

Wow, do I adore an FMC who seems unlikable. I think if you have ever been told you are too much, or made to feel like "less than", this story will speak to you as it did to me. Stellar worked SO hard to escape her upbringing that she often felt like she was running in place. Lyle was also working to put his past to bed, and walked on eggshells to be perceived a certain way. Of course they helped to round one another out in a hard-fought conclusion. I adored these characters, and was happy to be back in the world that started with Rules for Second Chances. 😍

I have never read anything from Chaos Davie (aka C.C. Davie) before, but I will be adding her books to my TBR moving forward. This was a dark, sapphic extravaganza of mayhem, and I adored it. 🔥 The humor, the emotion, the heat (🥵)...it ALL worked for me. I cannot wait to read the next book in this world. Here's to vengeance and women's rage in all its glory!

Brenton writes consistently great romances - from her debut novel to now, they have ticked all the boxes for me: fun, a little zany, steamy, and heartfelt. This one was no different - Benji and Gina were adorable (and the chemistry was hot!), and the side characters were exactly what a reader wants when the author is teeing up more stories in the same world. I love it when the FMC is older than the MMC, and the absolute magic of romance is how an author can take a crazy idea and make it work. 😍 In the Author's Note, Brenton mentions that she almost quit writing, and I really hope she doesn't, because her books have made my life just a little bit sweeter, and I would miss that if she quit. 🥲
