Not what I thought I was getting when I signed up but glad I kept going. Well done. Lovable characters. Important message.

I had a perfectly good time with this. 

1. This was a SLOW book at the start.
2. Y'all forgot that queer kids are a thing.

Reviews said the second story is even more slow. It doesn't seem possible. 

I was told this is a horror novel about a whale. The whale doesn't even show up until more than 1/4 through and the book is clearly more about trauma and shitty parent relationships than a horror novel about a whale. I'm out.
