I learned a lot from this book! I’m a huge DC fan so I probably was a lot more interested and invested than the average reader, but this short book packed a lot of information. From the backstories of Superman’s creators, to how/why Superman was created, to the KKK, to how Superman’s stories evolved to take on the hate groups plaguing America; I really enjoyed reading everything!

That ending! I had never been spoiled for it so it was really hard-hitting; the connections with Candy's dog...

3.5! I really really enjoyed how civilization was portrayed before and after the Georgia Flu, especially the lack thereof post-plague. Reading this book has given me a lot to think about in life. I find myself stopping and wondering “What if?” As someone who has studied world history, the rise of civilizations, the fall of empires, the beginning of the modern age, I genuinely felt shaken to the core while reading; the author truly made this apocalyptic world eerily realistic, and that was definitely the strongest part of the novel.

Read for English class. This is so dense and dry. The writing was nice and there was even a couple of pages that were really amazing. Some of the themes are very important and interesting to read about, so even though this was a less than enjoyable experience I would recommend everyone to try reading this at least once since it's not that long.

Read for class. The parts that did make sense to me were really good. Maybe a little too in over my head. One of those works I feel each person has a different interpretation of (to an extent). I think everyone can take something away from this, so I recommend checking it out if you read Hamlet. I actually liked it more than Hamlet, personally.
