Ahhh, I'm really loving this series, and all the characters (the new ones included). Delphine's a charming, older sister and Vonetta and Fern are adorable chaos. Surely so.
Cecile's "roundabout, go through the park and stop for ice cream before she's get to the point with some hidden wisdom" letters crack me up. P.S be eleven, i.e stay in a child's place and don't try to grow up too fast.

Well, I don’t know what I was expecting, but this isn’t for me. The "misunderstood dragon" running gag isn’t making me laugh.

Let’s see: beautiful artwork, a goofball king and his much more competent and deserving best friend (who secretly resents him), an angel that won’t mind their DOGGONE BUSINESS, paternity woes a la Maury Povich, and politics. Okay. A bit confusing but lovely to look at…

+ I liked Cass’ no-nonsense attitude. She was my favorite character. I hated when she died, but it made sense.
+ Zephyr is a whiny, pathetic MC who does not believe in herself, but I liked her narrative. I understood why she thought so lowly of herself. Her struggle with darkness is the best part. She legit murders people, and there are no Disney do-overs.
- That kiss scene after the murder attempt felt anticlimactic and misplaced
- Tallon. We only like male love interests who can communicate, and don’t hide behind their “tortured soul.” Well, maybe that’s on a case by case basis, but I didn’t care for him. He’s too wishy-washy.
- At first, I was super confused with the setting. Zephy kept mentioning prom, soap operas, and soda, but she never lived in the mortal realm. Turns out she learned everything from TV and the few rare occasions she visited with her sister.
- Zephyr feels jealous of another girl almost irrationally (due to feelings of self-esteem); I don’t like girl-hate either, but I’m glad she somewhat realized the error of her ways. she halfway killed the poor girl tho ._.
x Very slow/long-winded. In the middle of the book, there’s feels like prolonged filler. You can skip a little ahead and not miss anything.

Standard otome tropes/archetypes. There’s no time to really get to know all the characters, but each of their introductions is memorable.
