Ridiculously charming with its own little bug-lore, adorable artwork, and pleasing color palette. The two main characters are innocent sweetie-pies.

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end, and it manages to covertly sneak in some “life lessons,” like, communication and peace is good, and, sometimes, your friends will change, or what’s a cage to you might be someone else’s home (there’s even a random drug-trip scene with special mushrooms). Sometimes, the beetle boys got philosophical. Also, Dragonfly is one of my favorite characters.

Predictable but not bad

This is definitely for kids. The dialogue made sure of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

At first, I thought I was going to have to tap out, but I began to like hearing about the differences between mage and warlock magic. Overall, this seems like a cute series.

This adaption is moving too quickly for me.

FINALLY, some progress and some great friendship moments too.

I liked reading this, and I thought the characters were clever. Morality and superpowers is a combination I love but rarely get to read about. The relationship between Sydney and her sister was one of my favorite parts along with the characters' quirks, such as, Victor's need to deface his parents' self-help books in the form of black-out poetry. Eli went 0 to 100 real quick, but his role was not bad to me.
