The pacing for this series is questionable, at times, but this volume was terribly interesting.

It’s been a while since I’ve read vol 1 – 2, but the New London stuff threw me though a loop for a bit. I do hope Ben’s character/arc doesn’t only revolve around Isaac. He hasn’t shown much of his own individual motivations or personality yet.
Adrian gets a bit of character development or should I say a glimpse of humanity. I liked the implications the ending is bring up. Let’s see where it leads. Do the ends justify the means?

This one is mainly for art history lovers only or those who would like to look at the lovely illustrations. If you’re not in one of those two groups, you might get bored.

Really good. Kids understand more than you think. The main character Julia’s narrative is very believable, even as the narrative gets more and more disturbing. There’s a lot of family dysfunction, growing pains, and narcos business.

Slow start but very informative and engaging. I couldn’t put this down though it’s hard to read about people being displaced and mistreated.
I also find it hard to believe a child-trafficker/human rights violator who tricks little boys wouldn’t “try” Hasina in any way. I was so expecting him to tell her to pay for the medicine in another way. >.>

IDW’s writers and artists really know what they’re doing with the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, building upon old, should-be throwaway characters, breathing new life into main characters (Shadow has personality in this series; Amy is mature, and her leadership role feels natural.) fun dialogue, and phenomenal art!
That opening Big the Cat comic? So good with a twist and I never cared about Big like that. I was cheering so much when I saw Blaze and the koalas from the Sonic Rush Adventure games. This was such a good arc. I wonder what the next one will be.

Much better! Where the first book was congested with too many storylines and flat characters, the sequel is more focused and lets the characters breathe. I think the pacing overall improved drastically though the opening chapter was a bit disorienting because you’re hit with like 20 different characters.
Keep in mind, there’s A LOT of carnage in this story. Death and body horror is ever present.
Still, I enjoyed reading this, and this book was almost 500 pages.

A whole lotta drama, but I thought the characters were very believable. Megan is reserved and very conscious of her parents while Cass flies by the seat of her pants, she makes her own decisions. At one point, Cass moves to New York and makes friends with a lot of eccentric artists, but that’s probably realistic for NY. Some of the most creative people congregate around there.
The artwork was cute and expressive. During a scene of a party, is one of the highlights. I also liked the lowly saturated rainbow-coloring.
