The premise isn’t a bad idea, but the execution is like using Hello Kitty stickers instead of duct tape. I don’t mind silly or ridiculous stories, but I just didn’t get this one. Josie’s been drugged and programmed all throughout her life, and the truth comes out after a fateful trip to Paris. But it’s so matter-of-factly. Her mom just owns up to it. While Josie is happy to be in control of her life again, I thought she didn’t have a strong enough reaction to basically being a robot, test dummy.

Also, Josie’s high school friend Zoe is prominently in the story. She doesn’t add much besides a joke or two, but I liked her.

The artwork is very simple and flat-colored. It can feel unfinished, at times, and there are few in-between shots of movement. But I liked the reddish-peach color scheme.

If you just want something fast-paced, action-packed, and nonsensical, then this isn’t a bad option. Just don’t expect to understand anything or connect with the characters on a deep level.

I love the friendship between Mal and Chad. It's hard to see Mal be treated like a bit of an outcast when he's so friendly and kind, but I think kids will find some parts of this relatable.
informative fast-paced

While volume two had renewed my interest, this one sapped it dry. I don’t think I’ll be continuing with this series. It’s really for very enthusiastic animal facts-lovers only. This is no slight on the series, but it’s not keeping my personal interest.

It’s very touching that the whole design office values Ueda. So cute.

Full of ridiculousness and puns. So many puns. Here, Peter Porker thinks he’s God’s gift to his universe (because the multiverse and all that). A lot (read: all) of the humor is derived from Porker’s self-absorbedness and meta humor. If that doesn’t interest you, skip this story. But I thought some parts were fun.

I don't get this story, man, at least in this adaption. Too much is happening. And Simon needs to sit down for assuming Clary's his girl and throwing a fit when things don't go his way. You know this girl wants her doggone on brother, and, yes, I hate this book for making me acknowledge that.

I think there's a lot lost here that's probably found in the novels.

This graphic novel adaption has me feeling distant from the characters. Betrayals, plot twists (no, thank you to that last one), and deaths are all around, but I feel nothing. I care not one iota about any of the cast. I think this is more of a bonus to those who read the novels, but I have no interest in them.

eh, this is that series where the (unknow at first) brother and the sister are in love :/

I’m in love with the art style, it’s bold and cartoony. I also enjoyed the different body times shown.

This is a story of girl who can’t stop hating and breaking her ankles, so she makes a pact with the ballet devil. The ending message is great.

Easy reading! I enjoyed Lux’s narrative a lot and the cute, fun-sized book design.
