A reimagined Miss Nelson. Loved it!

A bit too slow moving for me and I've not been connecting with the characters.

Meh, it was a spy novel. It was slow paced between missions but a little quicker pace during the missions. I didn't really get to know the characters so it a as hard to care about them and whether or not they made it through a mission. The narrative felt very "check the box" to make it through a spy plot, but not cohesive as a story line.

I struggled with the clipped dialogue and repetitive descriptions in the first few chapters. I really wanted to be able to experience the underlying story more of Maria and Tiago, but couldn't get past the delivery. I did skip to the end to read the Author's Note to learn some of the true stories this was based on as an alternate. 

I enjoyed the unfolding plot of the story. Each chapter felt like the peeling back of an onion with a little more information revealed with each layer of narration. It's not quite one I'd reread with the twist in mind (like I did for Daisy Darker) but still an enjoyable brain teaser of a plot to piece together reality.
