Meh, just not as good as the first book. I struggled to be engaged by the stories and there's so many other books I'd rather pick up. Ended after The Truth About Charlotte.

Couldn't stand the writing. Just pick an adjective instead of adding all the alternatives in ( ). And keep dialog in " "s instead of jumping in and out of tenses. It was so hard to follow anything that I'm forced to give up.

Way too much train-of-thought rambling and run-on-paragraphs and I can't push thru.

I was getting bad vibes at the start, and based on the other content warnings other reviewers have reported, I'm right to put this down. It'll be too dark of a book for me.

I struggled to get engaged into the setting and tracking the political elements and groups. Trying to keep that straight wasn't allowing me to engage with the story to the degree it deserved.

The Accidental Pinup

A bit too slow moving for me and I've not been connecting with the characters.

I struggled with the clipped dialogue and repetitive descriptions in the first few chapters. I really wanted to be able to experience the underlying story more of Maria and Tiago, but couldn't get past the delivery. I did skip to the end to read the Author's Note to learn some of the true stories this was based on as an alternate.

I'm not in a good headspace for this book right now with my own mental health problems and after talking with dear hubby decided its best to set it aside. I also wished in the parts I did get to that it could have acknowledged that there can be a male default parent/owner as it would better mirror our situation but I couldn't bridge the gap on my own.
