Generally I love books like this. I read book one of the series and it blew me away. This one left me wanting just a bit. I did enjoy the suspense overall. I enjoy it when there are elements of suspense in my romance books. This one was light on the actual romance and heavy on the flirting without wanting to flirt stuff. It was okay. I’m going to reread this at a later date when the first book isn’t as fresh in my mind. I’m comparing them in my mind and this one wasn’t it for me. Solid enough storyline including twists and turns that keep you guessing to earn 3 stars. It’s worth the read if you’re looking for something quick!

Didn’t care for the writing style. The story itself was not that great. Just not a fan.

As in typical (for me anyway) Koontz fashion, this book started out incredibly dull. I had a hard time getting into it. The chapters are long but they are divided which made it easier for me to deal with the chapter lengths. It did take until about chapter three for me to be sucked into the story which is the main reason this isn’t five stars. The beginning was incredibly boring, the ending was one of those several years later things which also annoys me but I did enjoy the story overall.
